Paris : Fiction and Images, a New Series of Each

Pictured Left : New – Slumming in Paris, Part One, Arthur & Gricinda.

A fun novella. A young couple with a little time before their two children and the children’s four young cousins all arrive to join them in Paris (Parts Two & Three).

The images in this series of posts of Paris photos, are a record of the visual experience that provides part of the inspiration for my series of Paris based family novels.

Birds in the Bath

Winter rains

Spring rains

Rains in Paris and in Austin

The same rains wet with earth made

to moisture.

The birds don’t care.

The water is the same, all good to them.

It doesn’t matter the season or the place.

And the people passing smiling by them

in Paris and in Austin

are like them.

They don’t care either.

The birds are all the same, all good to them.

Rinsing off the muddy differences

mad men try to make

on our Earth.

Birds in Austin by Palmer Auditorium

Birds in Austin by Palmer Auditorium

Image

I very recently, in my Paris Photo series, posted some images of birds bathing in a puddle by the Eiffel Tower, and kept thinking and feeling the similarity to birds just about everywhere I’ve been blessed to go on this Earth.

And though not that many places, enough to feel that particular connection.

Then I remembered I had taken some pictures of birds bathing just a few weeks earlier here in Austin, and couldn’t resist posting a poem for it, and showing the photos.

This was taken just a walk down from our apartment, in a green area between Palmer Events Center and Lady Bird Lake.  Palmer is a reconstructed use of an old auditorium where Sheila and I did almost all our Austin art and craft shows when we were personalizing and selling our poetry to the public back in the 90s.

If you get a chance take a look at the Paris birds bathing by the Eiffel Tower.

“My Poetry”

poetry, my poetry
is a string of clear crystals
strung together with flossing lines
picking out bits of unaware-of-nesses
as the sparkling glass is slowly
dragged
across the stones of ancient
streets now seldom swept
and missing, ever so
missing
being broken

“Stowed Away at Stowe”

the white sky rolled a bit of

itself

over the mountain in a curl of fog-cloud

and the steepled church welcomed

it

anyways

autumn’s fall color remnants

whispered

an equal welcome

because

stowed away at stowe is the

secret

scarcely hidden

that the times always burn

OK, Maybe the Last PhotoPoem in Vermont? ;-)

yes, i said my previous vermont photopoem was my last, but that was before our trip away from my wife’s home state got derailed / delayed for a week

obviously we are extremely fortunate to have a place to stay that is not only comfortable, but beautiful

stowe, by texas standards, is down the road from burlington, and was worth a look for a place to stay that, price-wise, easily rivaled staying in burlington

that the stowe area is what is considered “off-season” right now, i hadn’t anticipated, but gladly welcome ;-)

judging by the images i’m coming across, i’d say, barring the unknown, i’ll have some more vermont photopoems before our scheduled flight out next week

our stay at the sun & ski inn has been a treat so far, and we’re hopeful for a full stay of the same ;-)

stayed tuned, and hope you’ll catch the next photopoem!

*

Dining in Stowe

well, maybe not “dining” but definitely lunch ;-)

today we experimented at Frida’s Taqueria and Grill, and tasted one of the rare mexican food fares we’ve found here in vermont

tasty, in a setting that’s clean, colorful, and fun, the food is worthwhile and affordable

throw in that “off-season” factor, and getting a nice size table by a wide clear window, was easy and enjoyable, all completed by eager smiling service

we shared three different types of fish tacos, a huge serving of guacamole in a container of genuine volcano rock, a couple of other sides, and we were pleasantly full at an extremely reasonable price -

plus i got my one and only t-shirt (finally) during my nearly one and a half year stay with sheila here in vermont!

and snow showers tonight? we’ll see ;-)

New Page Across the Waters

it’s just a cell

storm

across lake champlain

contrasting the sunshine in a blink

yet it feels like

a page turning across my sight

the shadow of the passing page swiping a

cinema-transition to the next scene

i can even see the tiny sandbar

pretending to be a

continent

and why not?

in a day’s blink

my wife and i will blink across a

larger water

our own contrasting shadow

and land in Paris

remembering

every sandbar is a continent

Last PhotoPoem in Vermont

but not the last poem or photopoem about vermont

we’re just moving, that’s all ;-)

my wife and i went from austin to galveston for a bit to be near family in houston, then on to here, in vermont, for the same reason

now, with a scheduled detour in paris, we’ll be returning to austin texas, by mid december

i’d prefer to yak a bit more, say a bit more, explain a bit more, but i’m typing this as my tether to the cable internet is about to be shut off

then i’ll need to find a wifi place to finish this by linking to dversepoets

definitely another page turning, i think it’ll be fun seeing what paris will be like this time of year; i’ve read the lights for the holidays are really special – i’ll let you know ;-)

*

Hurricane Sandy’s Effect, Minor – One Week Delay Going to Paris!

got calls just this evening that due to heavy damage at nyc airports, all legs of our flights cancelled, am re-scheduling, but earliest avail for both of us at same price etc is one week out

as i say in my poem, in a day’s blink ;-)

and if “every sandbar is a continent / when you breathe there” – then every twist & turn delay is another adventure in the day’s many blinks ;-)

now my wife and i have a whole ‘nother view of a feature done in the media here, called “stuck in vermont”

*

Hurricane Sandy’s Effect, Major – No Power, Cold Temps, Contaminated Water

beyond all the above, are our prayers for the folks and families suffering and coping with sudden devastation and uncertainty

because, having living most my life along the texas gulf coast, despite the welcome aid of all our fellow neighbors, when one suddenly returns to living day-to-day, moment to moment, without safe water, food, or shelter, the reminder-blink of our very human vulnerability and dependence on each other, is truly shocking in its long-range impact -

and is something i’ve become more and more grateful for having learned -

natasha, below, from dVersePoets, says it well…

“It’s the Season of the Witch and those of us along the eastern seaboard have named her Sandy.  Here, we’ll feel her steam through the overnight, but for those of you out there dealing with her full frontal assault, please know our thoughts and prayers are with you.”

“perhaps we can take some comfort in knowing our virtual pub has proven  quite strong against the elements and the mood, as always, is welcoming and warm…”

take a look, if you can, at their fine site, but stay and be safe with loved ones and family

Commentary

Technicals

some exposure adjustment, the tiniest touch of saturation, and that’s it -

no cropping, sharpening, or tilting

just a lucky beauty of a shot ;-)

Leddy Park

by texas standards, leddy park here in burlington vermont is almost walking distance from our apartment, and certainly a close-by drive to get to

admission season is over, so anyone can drive on in to the huge almost hidden parking area -

an enclosed ice skating arena sits between the parking lot and lake champlain and views of the adirondacks

my wife grew up nearby there, and it’s a treat hearing her talk about trips she took there with her dad as a child

Choosing a Title

i hesitated titling this image poem “nature’s cathedral” but it fit so well, i just couldn’t not name it so

the canopy of shade and light is like stain glass i think, with some romanesque arches at the top of the frame – the image of this spot being a cathedral, nature’s cathedral, was immediate

sometimes, giving in to one’s first impulse is far and beyond the right thing to do ;-)

Accelerating Into the Curve

**

dVerse Poets Pub Prompt : Meeting the Bar: Impressionistic Writing -

hosted by Claudia Schoenfeld

*

claudia, traveling about europe (where she lives) happened on an impressionist exhibit and was inspired for the “meeting the bar” prompt featured this week

besides the absolutely stunning monet featured at the top of the page, which i believe i saw once, or a variation of it, in a converted museum-house in paris, she wrote this, which is thought was perfectly on :

But details weren’t their focus anyway, it was the mood of a moment, a feeling, fleeting, moving. Monet once said “For me a landscape does not exist in itself, it changes every moment in appearance, but the surrounding atmosphere brings it to life.”

it hard enough doing approximate justice visually to the impressionist legacy, much less verbally with words, but to feel inspired to do one’s own “take” on our own personal moments, here and now in our own unique times, is justification enough i believe ;-)

if you can, stop by and see the full prompt, and even more enticing, the myriad poetic responses one can enjoy, as a reader a writer a painter a lover and simply curious ;-)

best wishes everyone!

How I Write

**

dVerse Poets Pub : Ars Poetica – Poems about Poetry

hosted by

*

dVersePoets is continuing to celebrate a year of poets getting together and sharing their work in a supportive environment, thanks to co-founders brian miller and claudia schoenfeld

recently i posted a series of writings and samples about my fiction writing, now i have the opportunity to write a small poem about writing poetry!

this “forms” prompt, from gay reiser cannon, is focused on asking what is poetry, beginning by saying :

Most scholars agree that poetry is linked to our most primitive past, and came into existence in an expression of emotions usually accompanied by rhythms (percussion, drums, singing, chanting,) and music. Therefore it enjoys the station of one of man’s oldest and basic arts.

she then presents an interesting look at poetry in term of “content,” “form,” and “effect” and includes a short piece from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream

i had written my poem below before reading that portion, but am glad to follow in his invaluable sensed poet’s tradition of  the elements ;-)

it’s amazing the varied range of discussion in the prompts from dVersePoets, i hope you get to go by there and check it out

**

How I Write Poetry

i’m an air sign that

catches fire

sparklers and bursting

then

doused with rain

sprinkles and gushers

carried,

bleeding pigments,

into the earth

sandy and rocky and fertile

but i

started as air

and

inevitably rise in wisps

from the tendrils of plants

as pollens of oxygen

wrapping myself

forgivingly

into

cyclones and breezes

into

air

once more

it’s how

i

brush myself into

rainbows

even

i

get to wonder and smile about….

Sheila’s Cane, After Surgery

some things

in summer

are

ubiquitous

it turns out that

sheila’s cane is also

a naturally occurring object

one

or

the cane hung perfectly on the

spacings of her chair

beside my bed, on

a small rack for

knick knacks

and

between the

dVerse Poets Pub : Open Link Night, Week 51

hosted by claudia schoenfeld

truth is, since i wrote this “from scratch” i’m not even sure what it means, though i’ve gotten plenty of ideas that have played “it’s me” with my thoughts ;-)

which points out several things about creativity :

one can begin with or without a pre-determined goal or idea

one can “find” what is useful and engaging enough for one to create by the act of creativity itself

one can create work that provides continuing further insight into one’s own life; i especially have some paintings that work that work for me

it is useful to have “open” prompts from a welcoming non-harsh environment, like dVersePoets, to help one feel ok about trying something, even if just as an experiment

creativity seems to be a subtle fragile thread in us that persists with the power of steel

it is an enigma and pervasive in our lives

it can also be a lot fun ;-)

best wishes ;-)

When I Left the Past in Another Life

we want said, is too tough for me today

it’s no

wonder

i don’t know how i’m getting

hosted by ManicDaily (a/k/a Karin Gustafson)

*

karin, in her prompt at dVersePoets, regarding forms and styles and expressions of “exile” says :

“Exile, like love, transgression, death, is an archetypal storyline.”

then continues with examples religious and literary, from ovid to joyce and even within the hobbit series

the excerpts from ovid and joyce were particularly nice i thought

by go by and check it out, there’s more in her thoughts on the subject

my own take, based on my recent engrossment in my wife’s knee replacement, is both easier, and harder, to use as my prompt response, than conjuring up distant memories i thought i’d exiled and am maybe not ready to contemplate their return yet ;-)

which is a round-about-way of saying i’m too deep in what i’m in to do more than my current subject, helping my wife to her new bionic self ;-)

happy father’s day!

and if you’re in exile, remember, the prodigal son (or daughter) always got the most press, uh, attention ;-)

dVersePoets Pub – Memorial Day Prompt -

hosted by Victoria C Slotto

*

victoria has a wonderful poem from walt whitman, plus reminds us of the variety of poets that have written work honoring those who fight to preserve their homes and families :

“William Shakespeare, Wilfred Owens, Robinson Jeffers, Walt Whitman, Carl Sandburg, Matthew Arnold, Rudyard Kipling, Anne Sexton, William Blake and Randall Jarrell.”

and ends with this well said line :

“Go out and enjoy the day, whether you live in a country that celebrates Memorial Day or not.”

my poem is for the relationship between the soldier, any one of us, and the society we live within….

**

Soldiers Come in All Sizes

when

not that long ago

hordes rode the ridge

flashing steel

and death

the child

as much as the woman

with the man

scurried to defend

life

soldiers are defenders

of a way of life

and life

itself

so

to preserve the soldier

willing to give the only thing

we know for sure

our breath

our

way of life

itself

must defend the values of our soldiers

“Diversity” – Original Inspirational Poetry

dVerse Poets Pub : Open Link Night, Week 43

hosted by Hedgewitch (Joy Ann Jones)

*

i decided on a poem about diversity, sort of in honor of the dversepoets’ open link night poem prompt, which, this turn ’round, re-caps this fine poets’ site menu of offering each week

the menu of prompts each week, is diverse onto itself, but then, within the recurring motifs, deeper layers of unique divergences open, like glimmers off creases in deep caves lined with precious dusts when light passes over…

more information, in more interesting detail is offered within this week’s prompt, but this is the outline :

On Mondays, the erudite and articulate Chris Galford brings us a look at a different classic poet and poem every week, some familiar, some obscure…

Tuesday’s Open Link Night, where any poet can link any poem on any subject,  is our most poplar feature…

On Thursdays, we alternate two themed link-in spotlights on the craft of poetry…

One is called Form For All, and focuses on the various poetic forms through which we can express ourselves as writers…

The other Thursday attraction is called Meeting the Bar, and is all about the nuts and bolts of writing

Saturdays at the pub starts the weekend off with Poetics, where an alternating team presents various challenges ranging from a word or a concept to specific art or photography…

also amazing, is the diverse links brought up by a simple google search for diversity

nature, itself, must demand it (diversity), as even in-breeding can result in unwelcome results

i would highly encourage anyone interested in creative work, to check out the more detailed prompt above from dVersePoets ;-)

hedgewitch (joy ann jones) then finishes her prompt with a copy of Back Yard by Carl Sandburg, a fine summer read (for those of ya’ll in something south of northern vermont ;-) though we’re ready ;-) )

**

dVersepoets Prompt – dVerse Meeting the Bar

hosted by Victoria C. Slotto :

victoria presents one of my most favorite topics, the sense of being in the moment

she begins with a statement i myself feel fully :

“I am not a Buddhist, per se. Aspects of Buddhism, however, have inspired me for many years, in particular, mindfulness meditation….”

then showcases examples of being in the now - snippets of data awash in each of the five senses, followed by a poem by louise hastings illustrating the pull of the seasons in one woman’s now

*

Mindfulness, Heart and Mind

victoria’s excellent intro brought to mind a couple of twangs of my own regarding mindfulness -

one, how often various proponents focus only on the heart and disparage the mind

my own feeling, which i express often here on my site ;-) is that ideally, a blending, almost a respect and compassion, between the two, would be even better

carol horton has one of my favorite articles, regarding right and left brain, which i think equally applies (and which she posted on her site a year to the date tomorrow!)

two, is my idea of how / where creativity takes place; but first, this background material, from victoria :

“the words we commit to paper or hard drive are born in the present moment. In order to create, we need to carve out a place and time of silence. We need to slow down and notice details, to block out distraction, and open up to inspiration. Silence, awareness, focus….”

a problem potentially occurs semantically when silence is interpreted as only being able to be when one is literally alone, with no disturbing sound around -

this problem potentially re-occurs in the final three words “silence, awareness, focus” -

Silence

silence, to me, has meant the silencing of both the mind and the heart

the human heart is wonderful, as is the human mind, and both have shown the capacity for infinite good, and evil – which might well be the definition of being human ;-)

the silencing of both, allows awareness, and with focus, i believe, creates the opening for each person’s best road of approach in that moment, either the mind or the heart, or, in those rare wonderful times, both the mind and the heart

anyway ;-) that’s my theory, and my experience

which, i recognize, doesn’t mean i’m not missing something

Accepting Individuality Within Oneness

but i must work with what i have, believe, and can accomplish

when i’ve sensed this most, are in momentous crowds, and the moments before sleep

weird huh? ;-)

dVersepoets Prompt – Poetics – Poetics 1999

hosted by shawna from rosemarymint

inspired by “a book called The Best American Poetry, edited by David Lehman and Robert Bly” shawna explains that she hadn’t noticed the “1999″ on the book’s cover, in the upper right hand side

understandable, i think ;-)

shawna goes on to ask, what were we doing and thinking and loving or anything ;-) in 1999?

and adds a nice quote of concern from robert bly, this being a short excerpt of that quote, which easily merits a full reading,

“When the irreplaceable flavor of a given decade disappears, our language loses its vigor and becomes merely useful.…”

i won’t try and measure any vigor or descent into “merely useful” my work may have or not have now, but…

thinking back, watching the form and style i used from the early 90s on in my poems, i feel i’ve kept some of both of how i felt and how i expressed it, back then, before i became a young senior ;-)

what has changed, is how and what i’m more aware of, which really makes me wonder what the heck is still on the road ahead!

i’m just gonna go ahead, and assume it’s good ;-)

rode the tide of change

by being the tide

we didn’t fall off our makeshift surfboard

we didn’t have and didn’t need

dVersepoets Prompt – Open Link Night ~ Week 34

hosted by

open link night is a favorite, cause one can write anything, topic wise, within reason i assume ;-)

tonight’s essay by the host at dversepoets pub does talk about the loneliness of a writer’s life, the interior-ness of it, and has some great quotes from hemingway and henry louis mencken

the latter says,

while we are conversing and laughing with ourselves, we manage to shed our loneliness . . . to scatter it as we go along”

while the old man of the sea, adds,

he does his work alone and if he is a good enough writer he must face eternity, or the lack of it, each day.”

so i of course have decided to play both devil’s advocate and confound’er ;-) meaning i meander ’round what “alone” might mean, and if it’s ever really avoidable, even when among everyone else…

it’s a tough question

yoga says we’re all one, yet many schools of yoga say the ego must be dropped behind, along with emotions and thoughts – not too appealing, i thought we were all one ;-)

maybe, we’re meant to transform what we come in contact with, best we can anyways ;-)

so my challenge, was to create something entertaining, spark some interesting imagery, roll some pleasing word-rhythms, and yet intrigue the question of do we really create our best work when most alone, or are we alone anyway, and aloneness is just an excuse…except when we really are alone and must cope with that -

it all confuses me

which is probably as clear as i can be about it!

poetry, at least, can entertain and provide diversions of form and sound and pace and image – we can at least feel good about leaning towards knowing, all along knowing, even sometimes proudly acknowledging, we really don’t know…

but we know we’d be cowards if we didn’t at least try ;-)

so here’s my go -

***

We Write Alone, We Speak Together…

great literature, like
all things moving and
pounding our hearts, like
the rounded moon striking
our earth, changes everything
*
is it truly only possible to create
such impact, alone?
*
are we not alone when we
breathe our own air
among a stadium
of screaming
fellow fans or
among a dance floor of
studied looks from glances
shrouded as distance checks
on tiny turns around the
floor?
*
or
is it degree-of-aloneness like
the size of the moon that
strikes the oceans
making macro-
looks of drops of milk
drops
making crowns when splashed?
*
but what of the Iliad or spoken centuries of
korans and bibles and testaments of
moons striking whole peoples’
dreams of survival
*
were not those words whispered ’round
campfires sized like buildings
warming thousands
not
alone?
*
did the utterances in public minimize
the force on civilizations germinating freedom
in ancient greece or royal rome?
*
or can it be argued, posited, positioned,
speculated, post hoc, someone, a
man, a woman, a child,
first
wrote the words
into the air
alone
*
to be spoken on the ancient widescreen
of burliness and wild hair spun to
whip the air with callings
unconcerned with
aloneness…
*
can we ever not be alone
yet be with one
with
everyone?
*
or
do we really speak in most
aloneness
when we hope
to be with that
someone
always with us when we’re alone…

i’ve selected this work for dVersePoets’ prompt : Meeting the Bar: The Best of…

in this particular prompt we are asked by Brian Miller & Claudia Schoenfeld, co-founders, to “pick one poem you wrote throughout the year… — an encore performance” in honor of the site’s one year anniversary

i don’t know if this is my best, or even my favorite, no one poem for either category immediately comes to mind, other this this one ;-)

***

The Prompt, “Sculpting a Poem“ from dVersepoets

victoria c slotto, hosts dversepoets’ prompt, “sculpting a poem” and gives a brief overview of sculpture’s uses and forms, with many nice links to both 3D and 2D artists known for their work in sculpture

i also happened to pick up a new word, when victoria asked for an “ekphrastic poem” -

ie, a poem that comments upon another art form

*

Tips

among the several tips victoria suggests, i centered on two :

• Create a poem that is multi-dimensional, that is, one that can be read on more than one level.

• Choose one of the above “tools” such as texture or shape and allow it to shine in your poem.

*

dVersepoets

from a few months exposure and experience, i can say that as a group, and individually, the quality of interactions with other poets, both in the content of commentary and in the tone of those critiques, this is a supportive imaginative entertaining group with a lot of creative talent

if you’ve had a hankering to be involved with other writers, esp poetry, i feel i can say this has worked for me ;-)

***

The Shape of Gratitude

the form, the shape, is

inside the stone

i’ve heard, a famous sculptor

once said -

if gratitude is in

the stone of life

how is it found, discovered

in the mix of crumbly and diamond

hard

molecules packed like stone?

does gratitude find the fissure and

split what needs shedding revealing

the expectant-waiting, now

let loose to

breathe?

does

gratitude

softly cloth-scrub the knobby grains and

accept the wave and weave of daily

living

set in stone?

will gratitude

learn

it may be

the real mix is the mesh

of what’s desired and what’s available?

can even angels claim soul’s rights

into any birth?

or is sculpted stone

simply

fluid grace set to rest?

the shape of gratitude is

both

the question, and the answer…

The Prompt, “OpenLinkNight ~ Week 32“ from dVersepoets

natasha head, hosting dversepoets’ openlinknight has some wonderful commentary about why those who write, well, write -

it’s inspiring to read, as a writer or a reader…

she mentions writers who write “daring to post their hearts” -

she writes of how “Through this community, and on through the ether of cyberspace, brave spirits venture forth, hear my words, and encourage me to keep at it….” -

and she quotes walt whitman’s words, “To have great poets…there must be great audiences” then proceeds to tell us we are that great audience, and how much it means to her…

it is, as i’ve mentioned, inspiring…

i don’t know what the title of this work will be, it’s topic, or tone, but, here goes ;-)

***

What Would Walt Whittle

glad

i know this is

so

refreshed

when i breathe reminders of the good

things i can feel, the colors i can see, the

touch of my wife’s hand tapping

my thin remaining hair in

place

i feel i’m always finding rocks

i like to turn over, just to see

what crawled under

always finding croppings in the wide open

spaces

i can use for photo-poems, art, word

prompts

there’s so much land

we love crawl-walking over

bike paths, trails, patches of clearing

roadsides and byways with rails

cause they know we know

we’re gonna walk them

anyways

i found my poem’s title tilling time with words

i must’ve absorbed the poem prompt

and grew a new beard of thought

from pondering walt’s wise

words about my

audience

are there really still holiday lights in trees

downtown a week past valentines?

i like that lopey optimism

that assumes there’s

folk who’ll fawn

over every tree

lit like

firefly nests

walt whitman lives

where living’s lived

whether paper ether music or cries of voices

the living…is always felt…

Intro, Charles Bukowski, and Me

the guys and gals over at dversepoets have these open mike invitations, where one can create poems to particular prompts or themes

i’ve tried my hand with a few and like their essay-prefaced prompt calls

this particular invite is an open link night, so anything goes (i think) ;-)

brian, who helps run (runs?) the site, wrote the post-new-year new year’s post, and included a quote from charles bukowski

so i took my cue from that inclusion and did my best hispanic-american young-senior mostly-mild-life impression of who, if you’ve read anything of bukowski’s, was probably closer to what my initial immigrant ancestors’ lives were like, rough ready persistent and, eventually,  would’ve been eminently readable

and for those who do know charles bukowski’s readings, no this is nowhere near, close to, or pretending-ly as “authentic-rough” as he was ;-)

this is just me playing him on the internet -

on a blog ;-)

*

brian leaves a much better “taste” of bukowski on his site ;-) with his poem

enjoy!

Homage to Charles Bukowski

I sat on the glass

of opportunity

til it cracked.

I didn’t want

a glass of it

to spill & stain

my chest.

I don’t want to

thoughts.

I wanna

steins set like barrels.

Those aren’t opportunities.

That’s life.

Now buy me a drink.

Yoga

so much emphasis in yoga is on oneness, i sometimes forget that inclusiveness must not only recognize variety and diversity, but celebrate it

though, in all honesty, i only forget, i feel, for moments ;-)

the teeming-ness of life in our what-seems so homogenous increasingly-global lives, is an easy reminder…

try getting all your friends or family, or your social-media circle of friends to “really” agree on something, you’ll see what i mean (as if you don’t know this already!)

diversity, i believe, in our oneness, is part of what drove charles bukowski

he couldn’t live otherwise than how he was -

yet, it seems to me, he not so much wanted “in” - as felt he already was in -

and why didn’t other people see that ;-)

that’s the way i think we are today in our world today -

we’re already one, but don’t always believe it…
