Fun at the Old Bakery & Emporium Consignors’ 2019 Art Reception 😊

Today’s post is mostly filled with fun pics from last night’s art reception at OBE, the Old Bakery & Emporium!

Sailboat & Birds in Paradise

Oh, and the little cup is lemonade, no alcohol served at this function 😊

An Important Note First

Due to a maintenance schedule change, OBE will be closed the 2nd week of July vs the 3rd, and will thus be closed July 7-15 and reopen Tuesday July 16, 2019 at its usual hour, 9 am.

I’d also like to recommend making a call to 512-974-1300 whenever unsure.

The History Level of the Old Bakery & Emporium

These pictures are from the 3rd level and there is both an elevator and stairs for easy access. This level houses both the gallery and an amazing historical room. The latter, as you can see on the left and on more pictures down, is graced with tall windows and wonderful vistas!

It’s hard to imagine an art reception without snacks, and this being the special yearly art show for participating artists at the Old Bakery, there’s even more goodies than usual, lol! 😂 One basket, on the bottom left, has apparently already been clean out, yummy 😊

Food & History! 😊

And from this corner, music! 🎼

Kevin and Tanya, husband and wife team of Leather Bound Journeys, brought their hand tooled leather book journals, each a unique creation, plus provided continuous soothing uplifting music all evening.

A Taste of the Gallery Upstairs!

Here I am again 🙂 plus a view through the ascending stairs’ railing, and a closer look at my second painting in the show, Sunrise Rowing on Lady Bird Lake Austin 😊

Plus, as you can see in my previous Old Bakery & Emporium post, there’s much more to this charming carefully preserved important piece of Austin’s history!

Stop by any day Tuesday thru Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm.

Other Options & Ideas
My Amazon affiliate marketing highlights for this post are the same as for my prior companion post on the Old Bakery & Emporium. Except for some tiny tweaks, I couldn’t think of a way to improve on this part 😊

My personal work on offer is a collection of Texas short stories, some set in Austin and the others in Galveston. It’s multi-generational, and fun to read, esp if you like kids of all ages & their interactions 😊

I also browsed a lot of categories on Amazon and liked this in Books best. Seems to cover a lot of history (300 years), has a great cover, and seems to be part of a series, which is nice if I end up wanting more like this!

Tomorrow I hope to upload my 2nd non-auction full time listing on eBay of my art work. And I think I’ve decided to alternate older work (80s-2000’s) with newer work (this decade) — so something new this time!

And remember – if you need to license any one of my images for personal or commercial use, contact me at limitededitionsbyadan@gmail.com 😊

Thanks everyone!
All the best!

  11. Yes Vermont would be quite nice right now! I don’t like heat either, so I should plan my trip to Austin during a cooler time, I understand there is great music scene there!

    1. Oh yes, even if not the cutting edge it once was in the 70s or so, it’s very vibrant and pervades the city. Never been to Nashville to compare, but certainly enough music to keep most of Austin’s overwhelmingly large younger population happy 😊

    1. That would be wonderful, Tiffany!

I don’t show much, though I have some “steady” images showing continually as part of the Old Bakery’s wonderful program for Austin artists (run by the city through the Park Board), and it is “very” hot right now, but if you’re ever inclined, please let me know! 😊

Though I’d prefer to be in Vermont right now – all my traveling right now is the ten minute ride (my wife driving) to see the 6 year old grandchild, lol 😂
