A Little History Making this Image

It wasn’t easy, that’s for sure, lol!

I posted a blog post – Deciding When My Painting is Done, Part 2 – Stopping Myself Before I Ruin My Own Art – in January six months ago, of working on this at the Old Bakery & Emporium where I show and sell some of my work, detailing some of my doubts and process.

Yet, I really liked what I was seeing.

But I had to both decide to accept I liked what I’d created despite nagging voices within me saying it wasn’t good enough — and — stop myself from “over creating” and ruining the work!

I like being a Libra, but this balancing act was a little too much even for me, lol! 😊

Hanging in There With One’s Creative Convictions Despite the Doubts

Eventually, with a decades-long friend finally saying, “Don’t touch it!” – I accepted what I’d created and the fact that I really liked it.

Then this week I got my weekly update on my Fine Art America images (comments, most viewed, etc), and what was my most viewed image last week?

Yellow Blooms and Coral Accents 😊

Goes to show I think, that little reminders, little encouragements, go a long way toward keeping us creative.

And hopefully, our little creations, send some of that hope and encouragement back into our world 😊

That’s a lot to be grateful for!

One of my earlier books from 2012. I basically kept a daily diary of things I could be grateful for. For three months I kept pretty steady at it, finally becoming aware of patterns of recognition, then slowly felt I’d internalized them where I didn’t need to chronicle each day anymore. Though the work still amazes me how the recognitions, revelations really, came, each day, without fail.

I immediately liked this butterfly floral sunbather glass wind chime! The charm is included with approximately 14 choices from mom to Valentines to friends. Very nice!
