Nice Surprise After My Morning Med Procedure!

My first priority after this Wednesday morning’s first appt of the morning at the dr’s with strict instructions of no food or water after midnight, was breakfast!

Besides too much heat all summer, Austin is also counter-blessed with a seemingly unlimited number of good to great breakfast taco locations. We chose a dependable good+ location that was also nearby to where we wanted to buy groceries afterwards.

My wife and I both split our dependably oversized portions into our extra tortillas – her’s with chorizo, mine with bacon. With a fresh cup of organic coffee in hand, and at least mostly full, I finally checked my iPhone for email —

And saw my sale!

That was enough to spur this post 😊

Autumn Colors Pedestrian Bridge” was painted in the mid-2000’s following a very unusual two year pattern of exceptional fall foliage here in Austin. Every day for about a week in November each of the two years, I’d get off work an hour early and head out to Barton Springs Road Bridge and take pictures of the pedestrian bridge crossing Barton Springs.

It’s still one of my favorite motifs.

I painted many variations of this location, watched the city skyline behind it change, and felt the resistance of the growing traffic to view such an iconic part of the city.

So I am forever grateful I had that one small window, twice, over two years.

It’s like I snuck out of the city for a few moments.

And brought back some magic ♥️

If Visiting or In Austin Texas!

Me in the history room of the Old Bakery & Emporium with a view of the Texas State Capitol Bldg 😊

“Autumn Colors Pedestrian Bridge” is also available as an 8×10 at the Old Bakery & Emporium. It’s an 1800’s historically preserved authentic bakery now an Art & gift shop exclusively contributed to by Austin area artists 50 or older. Like me!

Located across from the State Capitol Bldg downtown, it’s the perfect place to browse and find unique Austin gifts, like the print of my original painting 😊

It’s located at 1006 Congress Ave, open Tue-Sat, 9am-4pm.
Ph: 512-974-1300 .

Thanks so much everyone!
