Nope. It wasn’t the quaint village, or improved weather, or reflections of trees and foliage in Cypress Creek – it was Grandma & Max, enjoying their yogurt ice creams at The Wooden Spoon!
My TripAdvisor review is here (with different pics of course, lol!)
And here’s the story, in captions picture by picture – oh, and don’t worry, a couple of “scenic” pics & links are further below 😊

Max: Oh, that was so good! I finished all of mine already!

Sheila: Mine too! You should eat your food more slowly though. Less chance it’ll hurt your stomach. See, I still have some!

Max: Yay! Can I have some!
Sheila: No, sweetie. This is grandma’s…

Max: !!!!!! 💕

But don’t worry folks, he was plenty full and ready for the next adventure, checking out rock art, studying a giant blue cowboy boot with pictures of, well, adventurous ladies, and observing several younger children at a small playscape and commenting how he was “way” too big for that playground 😊
And here below are a couple of nice reflection images we saw walking along Cypress Creek. I’ll try and have some non-notated versions ready and up at Fine Art America soon.

Max is way back by the big tree on the left, lol!

And evidently, just a little further down is a whole preserve and park, Blue Hole Regional Park. Here’s a little history of how this park was created, and here’s some pics that show it off. Definitely something we want to check out when we’re there for a little longer.
Going to a nearby Hill Country location like Wimberley was a secondary reason we moved so much further south in Austin. That we had our youngest grandchild with us, the primary reason for our move, combined just the right ingredients for a fun drive & visit 💕

Wonderful day; we just had to take advantage of it, Tiffany ❤️ It was a rare weekday off for Max, and with the holidays and rollercoaster summer to winter weather, this was also a really rare nice weather day, so we grabbed the chance & took off to Wimberley w/him 😊

Cypress Creek, when it’s not flooding, is truly beautiful; been that way, super reflective since I first saw it back in the 90s! Between then and now, looks like the community came together to protect it from over development. Haven’t been to the preserve area they created, but already getting info on it 😊

That’ll be from another trip, but honestly, I can’t hardly wait either, lol! I’m gonna contact the park & ask what time’s the earliest I can enter, maybe catch some sunrise light, esp now it’s not rising at 5 in the morning, lol! Am working on formatting 3 really nice pics from the group the 2 in the post are from. So far even my wife is impressed! Amazing what cropping & tweaking the black point etc’ ll do 😊 Hopefully have that up for tomorrow!
