Though no immediate sales, I came away from yesterday’s 2 hour Art Fun event at Art for the People Gallery here in Austin convinced I’m not only on the right track personally for myself as an artist, but for attracting the type attention that might very well lead to sales.

For my 1st foray into a full fledged gallery in many years, surrounded by over a dozen other active Austin artists also being video’d and explaining / showing their individual pieces to all us other artists and guests, this was the sort of immersive shared creative experience that’s a more than heady reminder what it means to be part of an artist community 🙏

Below, is one of three videos captured behind by Sheila standing behind the creative force that makes Art for the People possible, Lynnie Goodman

Sheila has another of the 3 videos on her Facebook page at – https://www.facebook.com/100002903977755/posts/4544327772340644/ .

Early next month we hope to do a repeat, or a sorta-repeat at the gallery, depending how & what Lynnie might like changed format-wise 😊

I know one thing – it was great seeing artists I’d lost touch with over the last few years, and that’s something I hope we never need to lose again 💕

Stay well everyone! Don’t lose heart!! ♥️

  1. This sounds like a great idea for a group exhibition, well done! There’s nothing better than networking with art buddies.

    2. Margaret – ps – how has “your” solo show done? I know you had a great start, and all hose images on paper covering the walls was a great idea! ❤️

    1. It was so much fun, Tiffany! I saw some folks I hadn’t seen in a couple years, got to know some others better, and met a whole group of new artists. I think the process the director ( Lynnie Goodman ) used to have each of us tell the folks there about ourselves and our creative process was embracing & liberating! And you’ll make it here I know, Tiffany. I don’t think you’ll like the heat ( if it’s during our 6 month summer, lol!) but you’d love the energy of the city ( just don’t try to drive in it if possible, lol! )
