Leaping thrusting herself into the
void of life’s light

The void felt oddly deeper
bottom unknown
the sky pale blue, fragmenting, nearly
forgotten…but she was
intent
hair
lashing her temples
fleeing from her skull
ripped by wind
wondering —
would she crash, splinter, quickly
would she ever leap on faith alone again
dare she?
so she welcomed the compression of life
against her breasts
rifling her skirt
rising bump to bump along her spine
and knew
yes
yes, she knew, she would
land
to leap again —
