Follow-up blog post after my 1st blog post since August 2025 earlier this week – Definitely like starting new!

video – describing my initial feelings seeing my 1st 2 painting layins via acrylic on canvas via my Vermont photo 2018 (see photo further below).

At least that’s how it works on my iPad Pro 17 😊

(narrating voice to iPad to type, with a little touching up)
several things came to me today as I worked on the second panel in a series of three with the third being the final completion I hope

one is how many different so many different things are coming at me as I’m painting at one time that I just seem to have forgotten about

for instance, I’m noticing the stark difference between the first lay, and the second lay in in terms of its affect on me and yet I’m also seeing the similarity in linkage of where one worked into the other

on the one hand I have the feelings I experienced with my wife in Vermont the morning after we had arrived that night and seen this image these mountains, the sky and the sun coming out and the little cabin out there just absorbing it

on the other hand I’m also experiencing the feelings as I apply the paint on the canvas and feel the textures as they begin to appear and feel the colors as they blend and mesh against each other

and all the time all this is going on I have to kind of force myself to still keep to the image itself the photo, and yet release myself to enjoy the mesh and texture of the colors as they create different sensations across the canvas

and of course, I can only talk of this afterwards like now because in the process itself the tug and pool of the paint and texture of the canvas against the image of the photo so many years apart, and all the feelings that are part of that photo in time well that’s really all I can do is just pay attention to that

what comes up next for me with the third panel is where I try to complete all the layering and finish with a rendition of my photo on canvas that satisfies meshing all those things the past the present and how I would like to see this picture end up in the near future, I hope.

(back to typing, for now)
Getting a little better with my voice-diction to type-on-virtual-blog-page – Yay!

Not sure how long a finished 3rd canvas panel will take me, but may be more willing now, vs in the early to mid-2000s when I was at my impressionist mode peak of productivity and production, to accept what my blend of emotions and and expectations comes up with.

Art is definitely a collaborative effort of past present and future, but just realizing it’s more internal for me than I gave it credit to, vs – what will people think…well, that vacillating balance, that’s important for me to feel and realize. The relinquishing of one’s art, my art, to myself, is sometimes more scary than gearing my productivity to outside expectations.

But goodness, I hadn’t realized most of that discussion – tug and pull — was me with myself — but then, even so, when did it also ever not include all the voices we’d absorbed since before we even knew there voices, knew there were these parents, and so many others whose voices were speaking with us – since inception….

Quite a linage we carry with ourselves since before we were even I or me I like that 😊🙏❤️
