1st Cabin Light Study 2 2025

There’s such a freshness of new-lit air to breath into myself here. I guess after the earthiness of Study 1, with its exploration of earthy pigment, this is the open lit feeling of freedom to be, to breathe ❤️ 😊

Freshly swabbed and cleansed in new light
brightly awake for the first birds
sweet chirps cradling
colors tingling
patches of
woven
light across the sky –
interlaced blanket rolling
clean across the waking cabin.
Yes.
The new day has begun….

I hope you’ve enjoyed this 2nd short blog post on my 3 piece painted series – 1st Cabin Light 2025-26

My next post, my last piece in this series, may seem more finished, and yet it itself is what it is because of the breaths of creativity preceding it!

This revisiting of my past photo captures feels like I’m rejoining powerful past moments of my own life, visually and emotionally, to where I am now in my mid 70s.

A different aspect of Shakespeare’s tangled web we apparently often unwittingly weave ☺️ but thankfully, creatively, to very much good! 🙏

Now my wife Sheila and I just need to survive this not-rare-enough potentially killer winter storm again here in Central Texas, lol! Wish us luck! 🍀
