“the intent of this blog is to incrementally build a body of thought that works toward integrating various topics, yoga, fitness, and the arts – it’s a process…”
In progress – what isn’t! 😉
at my age, other than saying “i’m here” 😉 there’s just too many things to say, to just say who i am –
the image below is “Barton Springs Canoe” a large (36×48) oil on canvas i think captures a chunk of me i like…contrasts, blendings of smooth edged colors, a human presence, and a slightly skewed perspective 😉
image-wise, the skewed perspective also refers to the view from Barton Springs Rd Bridge in Austin, Tx
the arts, meditation, yoga, fitness – that’s a big part of me, but not all of me…
As the oldest of six, a father of three, and a grandfather of five, and married over thirty years, I believe, in writing stories and poems, I’ve found a perfect outlet for my years of living.
I have been writing and creating pictures since high school in the sixties, and began writing more seriously in the late 70s and early 80s.
One of my more recent surprises has been to read a definition of Romance that seems to generally fit the majority of both my poetry and fiction: a central story involving the relationship of two people, and a generally optimistic and satisfying ending.
With that revelation, I now view Romance fiction in a whole new light. 😉
But if I had to give one word about most of my fiction and poetry, and even my images, it’s relationships.
The interactions of people, especially couples and among family, seem to have the strongest hold on me. That would also help explain why even in my poetry about teachers and nurses and others, it is the relationship aspect that usually is my focus.
Below, is more general information about myself. I hope you can take advantage of the half dozen or so titles I offer free for downloads, and will also consider and enjoy my other work. Thanks so much!

It is so refreshing to see people practicing yoga throughout their lifespans!
thanks! it’s been on and off, and mostly on since my wife & i got back into fitness a few years back; definitely something most folks would benefit from (fitness in its variations); and yoga for me is a biggie, thanks for stopping by 😉
That’s phenomenal! You’re quite welcome. Have you guys ever done couple’s yoga?
not couple’s yoga per se, where we play off each other’s poses, but close to it!
we’ve taught together quite a bit, and right now she’s restricted to more stationary work, but we do some sofa (chair) yoga where we sit next to each other and are able to reach across to one another on particular reaches etc, it’s nice 😉
That is so beautiful. How long have you two been married?

The power behind this noble thought is the yoga, which he did till his last days.

I can’t seem to change my email address on this site, so my new email address is:
Delete the old one, mdg…., and forget it.
AT&T has deceptive practices and unethical logic regarding its long-time customers and what they say they offer and what they actually offer. They had me delete my home phone to get wireless internet and then said I couldn’t get it OR my internet service back. Supposedly my block isn’t in their service area. This was after ordering it, confirming it, getting an installation date, and on and on. Said it was “advertising bulk mail.” We had had that home phone number since 1980 and I’ve had service with them since 1965. Go figure.
Email me personally to get my new address. Thanks.
wow, what a mess, emailed you at the daniel email listed on the msg you left; if you don’t get the email let me know, thanks mickey
