Across the Lake
In
the summer
when it was warm
sometimes hot
the hills
sat
pressed against the sky
in slate blues, blue-greys
cut-outs
in
shades of distance.
Now
in
autumn
the leaves have turned
the sun has shifted
and i see
grey-green shrubs and
a road cutting a slant
across
the nearest lake-hills.
i can climb the hills
with my eyes
now.
The air has
shifted.
The light cuts
the drier air more
sharply
setting the soft shrubs
into view.
I
could always
see across the lake
but i see
differently now. I see new.

a gift from vermont’s move into fall weather
besides the fall foliage color of course 😉

there’s a sense of settling in now, by everyone –
even the large tailed grey squirrels are noticeably slower, large uncracked nuts and bits of bark held dearly in their jaws
back in my parts of texas, around austin, the length of houston to galveston, folk are just now being able to get outside again, breath unheated air, and let the kids out 😉

yoga’s good about that, teaching people to feel the changes in simply being
which is simpler said than done , i know! 😉
emmanuelle, finding her own way on the roads between belgium and france, said as much, in asking, “is there such a thing as balance?” in her recent article On Balance
nature has a way of bringing that question to the fore…
yoga has an all-weather way of keeping it there…
stretch, breathe, and let the eyes smile 😉
do you hear the winds moving?
can you feel the sun glow?
namaste´- con dios – god be with you
