Under Amazon’s July-planned new payout plan for authors, the size of the book simply doesn’t matter.

The readers’ pleasure or desire to continue reading does.

Gone will be false enticements of bestsellers bought but not opened or finished.

Gone will be the value of piles of non-constructive reviews.

This is the best time ever for a writer to write.

But…

Write honestly.

True to the story unfolding.

True to the author’s intent and vision.

True to the characters and story line and language.

Open to the possibility of works of fiction of any length being viable.

Without padding.

Without excess cutting.

Without worry about the size.

Whether this new payout experiment works or not, it’s a groundbreaking opportunity to find out which of my works truly appeal and are being read to the end.
