Playa Hermosa Puntarenas Costa Rica – Sunset A One

My wife and I had a chance to visit Costa Rica for the first time a few weeks ago, and to say the country is an image bonanza would be an understatement! (smiles)

Not only is the imagery in Costa Rica wonderful, the people are warm and gracious and the food is remarkably preservative free! Be aware though, electricity is expensive (as the first country moves to 100% renewable energy) and the weather is hot – even for a Texas boy like myself 🙂

Finally, a special thank you to our Airbnb hosts, Kellie and Chuck – and their wonderful dogs (smiles). Chuck even rescued me from a ravine near a waterfall! 🙂

The image above, a sunset over the Pacific Ocean, is a few minutes drive down a mountain road to the beach from where we stayed.

My last image below is also a sunset over the Pacific, seen from slightly higher on the road (walking distance) from where we stayed, and the middle image below is the beginning of sunrise from the deck of our private quarters. Amazing experience!

La Casita Playa Hermosa Puntarenas Costa Rica – Sunrise A One

Sunrise from our deck was a wide, high vista, and I found it a pleasure to wake early and catch the 5 a.m. (or so) event.

Being near the equator meant the sunrise and sunset stayed about the same time the whole time we were there. Our host says the times only vary about 15 minutes throughout the whole year!

Being partially up the mountain and yet so near the beach meant I could simply wander up or down the road outside our house and find vantage points strategic for either sunrise or sunset.

This photo is the sun setting over the Pacific Ocean as seen just a few minutes walk from our house. Below is the same image on one of what I think is one of Fine Art America’s most fun products, the carry-all pouch 🙂
