Today

Going to stay home while Sheila goes to Gold’s Gym.

Got word yesterday I’ll be in the Old Bakery & Emporium’s December gallery show! 😊 So need to work on that, plus format a digital image of the new painting we’re taking to Jerry’s Artarama to replace the one that sold! Nice!

Also, am cutting this post shorter, as my iPad is having problems doing blog posts – I’m actually doing this on my phone! 📱

Hope my iPad’s just having a bad day, lol 😂

Yesterday

Early Morning
(twilight walking)
Both Sheila & I got up early enough to go for a 20 minute walk before the sun broke above the horizon of trees and silhouetted apt bldgs to our east. Only a few weeks ago the sun rose more to the northeast, and much earlier. One had to be out and walking before 6 to get near the same effect. This is more to our liking 😊

Twilight is an interesting time to me.

And though we were walking in the last of the last of the three twilight stages, it was still nice. Well lit, but softly so. Gentle warmth. A welcome golden tint to the bright yellow light that’ll bleach to almost pure white by afternoon.

I think that’s what I miss most (beyond the cooler temps and having both mountains and Lake Champlain nearby) about Vermont – the change of light both mornings and evenings. To be fair, I guess it is because of the mountains and sea-like lake, that the light has distances and variances of surfaces to sparkle, refract, and glow.

There, I had to plan to leave at dark in the morning. I’d to learn if I didn’t, the 1st twilight would already have muted the first sharp breaks of light into delicious softness. Besides, I could almost always depend on a McDonald’s outpost along the way for coffee – after setting up the pot for Sheila to just turn on when she woke 😊

Anyway, I got a taste of all that, a sip, this morning’s walk.

Hints of similarity in disparate places….

That might make a poem ❤️

Mid-Morning to Mid-Afternoon
(Gold’s Gym walking)
Reminiscent of my 1st big walk/run at The Y on an inside track since my 2nd surgery, but decidedly a scale down. I didn’t push as hard, felt a tad more tired than I remembered feeling that morning at the Y, no sense over-pushing it.

Still used a ball for several laps, pumping the ball in the air hand to hand, passing it behind my back and around me. Even added “one” lap with 5lb weights – that was plenty, lol! Did way more stretches, esp after I was done, and did do 3 alternating ending walk-run laps. Not as fast as that time above, but good, still good!

I clocked in enough steps to touch 6000, which put me in easier range for the rest of the day for the 7500+ 😊

That was a good way to head into the rest of the day —

— updating blogs & resting ☺️ 🙏

I do like to point out I pick my selections to showcase from my Amazon searches. May not always be the case, or wholly always the case, but for now, I prefer picking titles and book covers and gift items that just really appeal to me. There’s lots more to choose from, but only have so much room, lol! I hope you enjoy —

Thanks so much everyone! 😊
