Michigan Picks Up the Slack for Essential Workers
A breath of fresh air and hope, via the governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer, for her state.

“Essential workers eligible include workers staffing hospitals and nursing homes, stocking the shelves at grocery stores, providing child care to critical infrastructure workers, manufacturing personal protective equipment, protecting public safety, picking up trash, or delivering supplies,” reported WWMT West Michigan.

Though it’d be great if this program was expanded to all workers in her state, this is the kind of beginning that carries much hope and encouragement.

The benefit financially to employers to have staff and workers retrained to an even more professional level should be immense.

If folks know of other programs like this in the US, please post in the comments 😊

Thanks so much for stopping by, stay hopeful ❤️

  1. What a great idea! I haven’t heard of this before, I do hope more states can offer the same program!

    1. Only thing holding them back is, well, holding back 😊 It’s the beginning of a change in perception that we really must retool our current workforce, and the best way is by enabling those folks desiring to improve their skills and what they can offer. Hope the governor’s plan there holds up over time ❤️
