Getting messages from folks in our apt bldg saying power is back on “so far” though water’s not as of yet.
Sheila and I’ll drive there later this morning and see what we see 😊
More updates later today or this evening 🤞
Take care everyone 🙏

- February 22, 2021 – Austin Winter Storm, Power is On, Water is Running, Boil Ban is Canceled, and – I Shaved! It’s hard to express the relief in again having the taken-for-granted luxury of running water, power to heat and cool our air and bodies, and being able to stand with family, even if for a short time, even if we knew we’d all four had to have been social distancing / masking – even if out doors in our relatively fresh Austin city air.

We finally got heat! And, it shot up 40 degrees to the mid-70s, lol! Thanks ok, worth the trade-off 😊 Water’s finally running, but under a boil notice still & subject to cut-offs when leaks happen to even nearby places’ pipes. Still, slowly..getting..better, lol!

Thanks, Kirt! It’s been one of the more challenging weather times I’ve been in, close to the 2 weeks in Galveston after Hurricane Alicia, and the week or so during Hurricane Carla in Houston in ’61. We’re still crawling out of the no-water situations, but lots of inflow from other states now that the roads are drivable! 😊
