Yesterday the 8 year old and I delivered my full set of 12×18 Volleyball posters to the Old Bakery & Emporium and Mike, one of several long time consistent folks to know there, was kind enough to help us carry them in then pose with the Texas Capitol Bldg seen through the window 😊
And, looks like the gallery’s soft opening will be in early July; hope to have a firmer update be end of the month!
Meanwhile, rummaging around the historical building’s City of Austin website I found this link – http://austintexas.gov/page/lundberg-bakery – which has a nice short history and several neat historical photos. Below is the city’s banner for the site’s page —

The Old Bakery itself will be sporting more than a handful of large amazing black and white photos of when the Bakery was fully functioning, at one one with counter seat sitting! Even our 8 year old grandson with me was amazed – “Wow! You could really sit down and have ice cream?” ♥️
It’s a treat and heart fulfilling to see the reopening in progress!
Stay positive & hopeful everyone!

It is! It’s been a long time coming, Robin, and most of us here have to remind ourselves, this is just to get going again; not that many folk coming into town again yet (esp in this heat, lol!) – but definitely so exciting! 😊
