July 13, 2022 – Something New Today, Headline Stuff I Tweeted About, #housing #inflation #music #art

After just one longish chore this morning, Sheila and I got to spend the whole 100+ degree day inside, watching TV, exercising, eating well, and – most rarely of all – reading. She got to relax and peruse girl stuff she likes, and I finally got to read through tons of conflicting presentations ( often with the same info, lol! ) about inflation etc etc etc. You probably know what I mean 😊

So here, in no particular order, some with comments I included, are some of my re-tweets today —

Lot of interesting info in here, including how debt load contributed to Kohl’s failed sale of itself; and my wife really does love shopping this store 😊
Nice take on why never ending rising home prices are not the answer for everyone! Realtor my wife and I knew ( we owned 3 homes, one at a time, over our home owning years ) early on told me, only buy a house if you feel you’d be ok living in it if you could never ever resell it. That eliminated a lot of choices, lol!
Clearly remember seeing / hearing this on TV & thinking, this was each Beatles’ most convincing looks about their character I’d ever seen. I didn’t just love their music now, I saw these guys as people. Kinda shocking to my 18 year old eyes ☺️
I just like this, from 1st impact! The colors, the style, the theme ❤️
I still never can keep from thinking Jim is more rah-rah than I want to like, but he’s been around since the 1st rock coins thousands of years ago for a reason 😊
I added “my take” with a reference to Reagan in the 80s, esp the 1st few years of his presidency ( and sorry, not a big fan of him as president, though definitely as an actor on screen ) because I came across an article ( will post later if I find it again ) that gave me that surprise bit of info. I was so mired being out of the Air Force and going to college on my GI benefits, and raising kids, I didn’t much know what else was going on in the world )
Now why couldn’t the headline tout some of what I got from the article, ie, what is/was being pushed to help tame our currently runaway prices?
Now this is the article that got me thinking a bit more deeply ’bout inflation and its causes earlier today ( and that it involves the whole world, not just the US! ), and that and the tweet below then led me to doing this post today 😊
Living with constant 100+ degree days since late Spring, with our hot months here in Austin not finishing ( usually ) til October, this is outright scary, and, extremely frustrating, seeing as we are roasting the only place we have to live, and us with it….
And this is where I started the day’s roll with info about the many problems challenging us to, I think, survive….

I’ve tried to find an excerpt that, if not the crux of the article, is at least what struck me, in the place I’m at now, and compelled me to want to share it.

I you happen to read one or more of the articles, let me know in the comments. Granted, most these articles are snippets, but the media is doing us no favors not presenting full info presentations ( off what we know and think right now of course; subject to change, etc ) we could react and respond to. I feel I stay fairly abreast of “things”, but there was an abundance of info, data, and parallels to other times in our own country’s history, that I felt I truly learned a few things today. I like that! I hope you do too 🙏 😊

Stay well everyone! ❤️

I support passage of The Voting Rights Act 🙏❤️😊

Voting, in our democracy, is the purest form of expression.

Dissenting, affirming, protesting –
– all flow through the form of the ballot, not, the bullet…

Stay well everyone – for oneself, and for those who need us most..the children….
