Like most my abstract work, unlike the paintings I create from my own photos – which are largely realistic, even if sometimes in an impressionist or even abstracted bent, I really don’t know or have a strong idea what my abstracts may seem or turn out to be to me. This is equally true of Praying Together 2026.
It wasn’t long into painting I felt I was seeing people emerge. And once the brushstrokes and color smears ( scumbling, dabs, dashes, blendings etc ) are far enough along then my mind begins to recognize something vaguely and sometimes acutely recognizable.
Unlike work from my photos or memory, I discover the final image.
In this, I see caring. I see attention to life around us ❤️
Creativity! I ride it and see where it goes! 😊
