Header Art # 8 – Spring Header 2012

maybe it’s because being in northern vermont for a spring season is so new to me, with its contrasts to a texas spring 😉 but the play of days in the high 80s with those peaking in the low 40s, and lots of days in-between 😉 has me wanting to post more frequently changing headers for my site
less than a month ago, when spring has just begun, i posted my first spring header
now, i’m already updating it with a variation of the lighthouse image in it
though i was very tempted to go straight to a beautifully sun-filled floral, which yesterday and today would have been accurate, by this weekend, we leave the mid 70s and return to heavy clouds and much cooler highs in the 40s
so i’ll respect the pace of the transition from winter to full spring in this much more northern state than i’ve ever lived in before, with this new image, of seagulls beginning to brave the break in mist and clouds and enjoy their fishing and foraging in milder weather 😉
the original image, below, is one i really like, but it’s easy to see where the forced selecting for the header size, creates its own unique variation; then of course i play with saturation, dodge, etc

i’ve enjoyed this image so much, i even cropped the diving bird near-center, below the horizon, in a photo-poem i recently posted, “Diving”

i def like it adan…there are hints of color in this one that really play well with spring….

i’m glad you mention that brian 😉
i was a little worried i’d put a bit too much in, one of those sliding-scale art decisions regarding intensity –
but i liked being able to detect the colors not just feel them this time, must be spring time for sure! at least in northern vermont ( flowers are coming along though! )

thanks claudia, it did feel that way out there that day, very peaceful; there’s a bit of color foliage coming out now, so maybe soon (few weeks) i’ll have another header change 😉
