The Moment’s Eye

the lighthouse is lit
even though i
didn’t catch
the
moment
blinking almost
winking
saying
i’ll be back

these last few weeks of summer here in northern vermont, the moments one can sense the shift of seasons is happening a bit later than last summer –

so though i only have two vermont summers to compare, at least i’m not just imagining 😉

what i do imagine, is what those weather winks, nature’s foreshadowing, is bringing –

leaves in quantities of red and yellows you’d think nature was an artist who favored monochromes, with winter whites, so the native vermonters say, now not far behind

but whether it’s because my birthday’s nearing now (in oct), or what the weatherman here says has been an unusually hot summer, or my love of autumn colors (rare treat for a gulf coast texas boy) – that lighthouse blink is warning me, no welcoming me, back into my favored harbor of the year 😉

happy last of summer first of coming fall folks!

yeah, just over a month away and i already think it’s near 😉 62 is a big deal, kinda looking fwd to it

and thank you much re the symbolism, it’d been awhile since i’d done that so overtly, but felt nice, fit the image, which i also hadn’t done for awhile (photopoem), so might be a good thing to continue

thanks brian, yeah oct 19th 😉 finally hit 62!

been trying to figure a way to get back into posting poems, and do all the other stuff i need to do, and returning to a photopoem format for awhile, pic plus poem, might be the way to do it

hope your school stuff is going well! take care 😉
