Today
Waiting on the 6 year old for the 3 of us to enjoy Columbus Day. Maybe my 1st trip I’d been looking fwd to since we moved further south from near the downtown area of Austin, a short trip to Wimberley!
Plus I see my short post re rejoining the Creative Arts Society in Austin is getting nice views! ❤️
So back up to 89 degrees today, but not 106, lol 😂
Maybe trip pics tomorrow 😊
Yesterday
A lazy slowly warming day we ourselves warmed up to more and more 😊
(a return to an old art pleasure)
A leisurely Sheila Sunday special omelette breakfast, a slow easy walk mid-afternoon, a little TV, a little rummaging around the art room picking pics to submit for special venues via an old arts organization, CAS, I’d belonged to for years back in the 2000s into 2010 – before we left, traveling to Galveston, Vermont, and Paris 💕
It’ll be fun! Plus CAS has a ton of varied venues around Austin.
As I continue to dig out my older work and organize my newer (last year to now) art pieces, this will give me the varied placed for my varied sizes and styles of paintings.
This also gives me a chance to really look at my range of work, from the early 80s in acrylic, to my classic impressionist paintings, to my more recent contemporary experiments.
It’s giving me visual pause to compare and see, actually really see where I was at through all these decades!
There’s wonderful work through all the stages and phases. Work I still cherish very much, maybe as much for the memories and feelings that they bring out, as for the impact of the art on me today.
I think I’m going to have some serious reckoning of where I am now, and where I want to be creatively, going forward.
I don’t have to keep experimenting, but I don’t have to give it up, lol!
And, I can keep painting or return to any of my styles!
I’m pretty sure I didn’t envision this scenario —
Having the freedom to choose or not choose my own art, and more importantly, still follow my ❤️
It’s a bedeviling but delicious place to be 😊

I do like to point out I pick my selections to showcase from my Amazon searches. May not always be the case, or wholly always the case, but for now, I prefer picking titles and book covers and gift items that just really appeal to me. There’s lots more to choose from, but only have so much room, lol! I hope you enjoy —

Yeah, don’t think I could ever completely let go of tinkering, lol! There’s a short window of possible plein air art days for a few months before the heat is back, lol! So may even experiment back w/my old 80s medium of preference, acrylics 😊
