Just some quick post shots into the ether of something the other that’s caught my eye 😊
Sometimes humorous. Sometimes serious. Sometimes baffling.
Sometimes beautiful.
All as they effect me of course, but enough I wanted to share (retweet & post).
my commentary –
I’d heard (read?) this many times since at least 2000 when I started studying him and other impressionists more seriously, though of course the lesson itself I seem to need to relearn each time I paint, lol! But, from what I’ve read of Monet’s words and thoughts, he often did too. And my guess is all creatives, in all endeavors, have similar or parallel lessons – ie, paint it the way it looks to you; play it (music) the way it sounds to you; dance it the way it feels to you! ❤️

I hope you’ll “heart” ie, like, the tweet via the embedded tweet above, maybe even share or explore the person or group who tweeted to see if you find more you might like!
But most of all, I hope you enjoy, even if fleetingly ❤️
Stay well & safe everyone!

[…] on her is still “very” messed up, lol! It’s a perfect example of my recent Twitter post w/a comment-quote of Monet’s about painting what one “sees” – not, as I did in this work in progress, what I “thought” it should look like 😏 There […]

I love this quote , Felipe. Paint it just as it looks to you . The Impressionists were the first big influence on my painting – followed by Van Gogh as a close second . I think its important to realize that everyone sees in a different way . Thanks for something fascinating to think about !

Impressionists were (are) my fav’s since way back too! I’d seen this quote from Monet lot of times over the years & this time I made a point of saving the link to the tweet – so glad you like it, Margaret! 😊
