Arturo keenly felt an absence in his new work. None were of the type that gave him sudden breath of inspiration on completion. Would they turn heads? Yes, he found, but more slowly, more hesitantly, without the involuntary urge that demanded someone look. Rosetta and Arturo slowly began to enjoy taking solace with each other. They began cooking together, Rosetta no longer making all their meals alone. And walks along Lake Champlain replaced views from Galveston’s seawall.
