Sheila and I got our Moderna [Covid vaccine] shots 1 of 2 today! Lines were long, maybe 3/4 of the wait outside in 50 degree drizzle, not bad after 2 days of 5 & 7, lol! Exceptionally well organized, parking, checking, lining up, and as much so inside w/two folks per table – one handling the shots & the other the data into Austin Public Health‘s info bank. What a relief to get shot #1! 💕 In case u can’t tell, I took a reverse camera selfie & Sheila went the model route 😊 Oh, and yes, I did shave, sorta 😊
I’d just mentioned in this morning’s blog post my hope-for plans for the days ahead, and getting our vaccines was very high on our list 💕
Plus we’ve definitely planted our steps toward moving back closer to town (also mentioned in this morning’s post) – so very hopeful right now. Makes me want to take some brushes and watercolors out and paint! 😊
This morning, before the trip to get our shots, I posted a new watercolor from late December I hadn’t had a chance to post yet, Rainbow Land – https://felipeadan-lerma.pixels.com/featured/rainbow-land-felipe-adan-lerma.html
It’s a lighter brighter version of some of my other nearby Hill Country work.
Not as dramatic, but very cheerful ☺️

Our parallel grandparents to our youngest grandchild live in Florida and they just let us know they’ve finally got appts for their 1st shots! I so hope you’ll have similar luck too, Susie. And there may be a volunteer group that helps folks get their appts. Wife and I only got ours finally due to a church group’s help.

If it gets any more dire for your elderly husband I would go to the media. Someone somewhere where you live must know a way to at least point toward how for him to get his vaccine 😔

Congratulations. I will be up at 6.30 and online once again trying to get one for hubby. 87 with 5 chronic illnesses, and still unable to get one, I am 73, and don’t mind how long I have to wait, but hubby desperately needs one.

That’s so frustrating and wrong that someone his age even without underlying conditions hasn’t received at least the 1st shot, Susie; we’d almost given up but I started telling my wife our winter storm was the apex of winter “and” the lack of Covid shots for us; ‘course it was mostly pep talk, but like a miracle we got the appts! If there’s any seniors or other advocates in your area that might help. I hope you both get vaccinations very soon! 💕

Susie, I found some links on this search for volunteers who help folks get appts in parts of Florida (we’re in Texas); might be one of these groups would know of a similarly group in your area of Florida if it’s not in this initial search – all the very best for you & your hubby ❤️ https://www.google.com/search?q=help+getting+a+covid+vaccine+in+florida&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari
