Yesterday I wrote a slightly unconventional Mother’s Day post in terms of my usual holiday offerings, and today I saw a belated Mother’s Day post via Abigail Johnston via her site, No Half Measures, Living Out Loud, that spoke out to me….

Filled with family images and thoughts suited for any day, but especially so for Mother’s Day, I wanted to present someone whose words often, for me, take time to absorb – partly because of her circumstances with cancer, partly from the quality of her thoughts just onto themselves. Combined, they’re remarkable –
It IS important to ask those around us to take the pictures with us in it, even if we aren’t feeling so attractive that day or haven’t “done” our makeup. Our kiddos don’t care about those things, they care about us being there.
