August 26, 2021 – The Resurgence of COVID-19 : First Full Day After Our Booster (3rd Shot)

The first full day after our Covid booster shot (my wife and I’s 3rd shot) was long, drawn out, plus alternately achy & painful. But as some of my family told me, “At least you’re not on a ventilator!” And sadly, our family has known too many who have died from this virus – so I know they meant it sincerely, many having lost both in-laws or childhood friends.

Still, the day was grueling. Sheila and I found a “very” short 4 minute stretch on YouTube by Miranda Edmonde-White. She advocates gentleness of stretch and movement. Plus we figured we could of course pull back if the short routine was too painful – because, being very honest here, though neither of us felt any undue pain the prior day, when we got the shot (vs what happened with our 1st shots earlier this year) the 1st full day after the shot we both woke very tired, aching terribly, with our shot-arm and shoulders esp hurting.

In addition to the little 4 minute stretch (did on set in the morning + one in the evening – didn’t want to push it 😊), we rested more than we’d had in a very long time: naps, dozing, tv, “trying” to paint (but couldn’t concentrate of flow within myself).

I’d initially thought this 3rd shot might be less impactful on our daily activities than the 1st 2, but for me, I’d say this 3rd shot, our booster, starting the following day, hurts just a little less than the 1st and more than the 2nd. Sheila hurts too, but she’s a toughie ❤️ doing much better than I am right now, lol!

The two saving graces for me is, if I nap long enough, I feel significantly better, and, the 4 minute stretch loosens and limbers the tightness in my upper arms and neck to where I “almost” feel ok 😊 That’s really encouraging!
