First thing I gotta tell you is, this came out nothing like where I thought it was going – softer, blended gradations – until I ruined it, lol!

So what you see is more playful frustration than anything “polished.” But it was fun 😊

Ironic in a sense, since, as seen below, I started with texture then went smooth.

And, I did manage to keep my intention of keeping the center pink “as is”, protecting it w/masking fluid, but coming “very-too-much-close” to ruining that too!

I kinda wish I’d taken some of the inbetween stages, but sometimes those just make me a little home-sick like for what I coulda had but couldn’t hold.

Still, I try to remember to give myself credit for salvaging and improvising.

In a few days I’m doing a couple of posts on another avant-garde artist, like one I did recently about Joan Mitchell recently, this one on Helen Frankenthaler. I like a lot of her work, not all, but most – and – I love her creativity. And her ability to work through “mistakes” 😊

Below is a detail shot of The Earth Sends Its Prayers.

My sig is my 1st time attempt to sign using a new-to-me High Flow fluid paints.

Obviously I didn’t do a “pour” lol! But I did dip my brush in a dot of palette-poured color and, on the relatively smooth corner surface of the painting, I was able to sign my work in a way I’d only been able to do with pen or pencil!

I’m pretty sure paint pouring onto canvas isn’t in my future. With my limited space, the poured art attempt would be on the carpet and / or furniture 😏

All in all this was a fun experiment, one I’ll probably continue for now. It was fun to experiment without a full expectation of what I might come up with. Not something I want to do regularly, but with paint that would harden anyway, well, worth a shot 😊

And in case anyone’s wondering, no I haven’t gone abstract. But I have, as in much of my recent work, incorporated it.

I’ve much other work finished or finishing or in-progress, of mixed degrees of abstraction. But in a relatively rare period of high output, I’ve more work than I can upload or show or blog about, yet. You know I’ll get to it, lol!

Take care everyone!

Enjoy the periods of high productivity. It’s like building a savings account, rich with feedback for future creativity ❤️

    • Thanks, Joni! And I actually remembered to prep a new canvas ready for left over paint from my next painting projects. I asked myself, “What should the left over paint picture be of?” and answered, “Whatever” – there’ some nice liberating creativity there I think 😊
