About This Image

The full version of White Blue Cluster Square was captured on Oct 2016 with an older compact camera I’d had for many years but finally wore out, a Nikon CoolPix S3500. More info on my newer camera (since April 2018), a Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II, below in my Affiliated Marketing segment.

The challenge of creating a satisfying cropped rendition – in this case within a squared format – is finding both the size of the crop and the edges for the new version.

I’ll admit, I went back and forth, bigger and smaller, until I found the right combination of depth and foreground and interesting moments along the four edges that kept me looking more deeply into the image 😊

About Me & My Art

I’ve been taking pictures since high school when a friend sold me a used 35mm for $20 (he later told me he’d thought he’d taken advantage of our friendship 😊) and painted since first grade when the teacher, God bless her heart, on her own had us paint with watercolors to music 💕

I’m in the process of auctioning a selection of art work on eBay, and am finally also venturing into licensing and limited editions for both my photography and art.

I have accumulated more photos than I’d probably ever totally be able to work with, and more ideas for paintings than there’s paint for, lol! That and my close relationships are my truest savings as I near 69 then begin my 70’s! Definitely making headway aging gracefully!

My images are registered with the U.S. Library of Congress via numerous collections, and will passed onto our grandchildren, where they will have full derivative and other rights 😊

My Amazon affiliate marketing searches & highlights for this post

Though I won’t hesitate to take a quick shot with my iPhone XR, my Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II Compact Digital Camera is sturdy, powerful, and extremely dependable. It’s one inch sensor captures more light than my old camera, and the 20 MB file size capacity can make for a very nice size poster or print. Plus, as in this image, my cropped section will also come across well! My plans are to do a much more in-depth review of this camera in the near future, with lots of representative shots – night images, macros, sunsets, and more! Either way, this is a terrific camera I’m very happy with and you can see it at – .

I’ve always favored and had one of the smaller compact cameras, so for fun, here are 3 Amazon searches I liked. The fun part? Seeing all the differing qualities each style of camera can bring – big zoom, bigger sensors, warmer renditions. And then there’s the intangible – like the way I like the how my Canon pictured above rests in my hand.

Enjoy looking! It’s worth visualizing what you might enjoy while capturing the moments in your world….
