Today
Going with Sheila to Gold’s Gym this morning. Not ready for the cardio class, but will walk and use the indoor track. I’ve missed not being able to do that for over a week, should be nice. Plus it’s really well air-conditioned, lol!
After, Sheila & I joining a gaggle of other seniors for lunch at Central Market. They have a great tortilla soup 😊
Then plan an afternoon of blog work plus take photos of the new art piece I’m taking to replace the sold one for the Veteran’s Show at Jerry’s Artarama. Well, I say “new” art piece, new to them, it’s circa 2003, actually three years older than the one that sold.
What I call my classical impressionist work, vs my more recent contemporary impressionist pieces. There’s some good examples in my painting gallery at Fine Art America.
I’d hope for cooler weather today too, but I know better, lol 😂
Yesterday
Early Morning
(good news)
Been quite a few days since I’d woke early & felt good to get up!
Saw all kinds of goings on re viewings on my blog; posted most of that on yesterday’s Today segment of My Day Ahead, lol! Reblogs & a painting sold – whew! A good whirlwind! 💨 😊
Was even able to eat a (much) smaller cereal breakfast w/out getting nauseous. A tiny bit too full, but doable 🙏
Mid-Morning
(shopping)
Before it got too hot (and it did by mid-afternoon), wife and I went to Target, The Dollar Tree, Tuesday Morning, and Sprouts.
Needless to say, morning was gone by the time we got home, lol 😂
Early Afternoon
(lunch, Texas heat, organizing my day)
And a wonderful cod with veggies and pasta noodles at that!
So full, yet just touching the beginning line of too full, so not bad there either!
By the time we’d and I took the trash out though, the heat was topping 100 again with dew point in the 70s. Not good for old folks, small children and pets! Stayed in the rest of the afternoon. I walked a tiny bit inside the apt, room to room, to help digest my food. Better that than a heart attack outside!
Was only a 1000 steps from 7500, so barring the unknown, knew I had a good shot.
Settled in to work on the post announcing the sale of my painting from the Veterans Art Show. Took a quick look at the replacement painting (slightly smaller but framed, circa 2003, very impressionistic). Needed better light to take good pics of it for Fine Art America & blog posting; knew I still had today (Thursday) to capture it right.
Only thing to do besides start watching TV early was update one or more of my older blog posts with current links & images.
Late Afternoon
(updating older blog posts, doing a search)
I searched for land added “review” tags to reviews I’d done of movies, books, TV series, and fitness DVDs.
Yeah, used to have a lot of those latter, DVDs. 😊
So now one (including me!) can search, Movie Review as a tag or in the search box and get a more complete search return.
And DVD Review!
If you do a search box query, you’ll get all my movie or dvd reviews + some other reviews.
Or do a tag search, by going to the bottom of a post you like, then clicking the tag you’re interested in, ie, Movie Review or DVD Review, that’ll return only those posts tagged with that term. Nice!
That didn’t take “too” long, so figured might as well start updating those posts.
And that though, turns out its gonna take time, esp the really older posts from 2011. But I feel it’s worth it.
I really do have some really good posts spread out from the beginning (Feb 2011), and because I feel I have more control over my content within the boundaries of my own blog, this is preserving and maximizing my own creative work.
It’s not just links already there I can update. If justified (wasn’t Justified a great show while it ran?), I can add links to more current posts. Either way, it’s good! 😊
As I mentioned, that takes time. So I did one, a short DVD review of a Denise Austin set of routines my wife and I both used for over a decade.
Wore me out a little, had to get rid of a bunch of no longer relevant text, and write a new more updated review summary. But it was nice. It felt good, and I’m glad I’m doing this.
Little by little 😊
Evening
(walking steps, resting)
Reached 7500+ steps by early evening, nice way to settle in and relax til bedtime ❤️
After the excitement of selling my art piece before the actual reception (never done that before!) can use some quality down time. And did get a lot of work done re tags on older posts & one major post update.
And, my stomach doesn’t hurt.
So for such a hot day in Austin, it worked out ok 💕

I do like to point out I pick my selections to showcase from my Amazon searches. May not always be the case, or wholly always the case, but for now, I prefer picking titles and book covers and gift items that just really appeal to me. There’s lots more to choose from, but only have so much room, lol! I hope you enjoy —
Thanks so much everyone! 😊
