Updated a few times today – Wednesday January 20, 2021 – w/new pics 😊
I’ve seen Inauguration Days since I was a kid, beginning with John F. Kennedy’s.
(video – https://youtu.be/PEC1C4p0k3E)
I still remember how thrilled I was, and then, how shocked, when he said we should ask not what our country can do for us, but what we could do for our country, lol! What! Me? I was barely ten!
What could I do?
Well, it’s been a long learning curve. But words and intents, and promises of things to come, can be both of their times, and timeless.
Kennedy’s words, I slowly – very slowly – realized over my decades of trying to make sense of the world, much less myself, were that – obviously – our government was going to do much for us, more than since probably Roosevelt in the Great Depression (and since Lincoln before that & Washington at our beginning) in setting our nation right…but…we were to have a hand, had to have a hand in this too.
Life, personal and at large, is a reciprocal process.
When it’s not, the process breaks down.

So yes, Joe Biden is about to embark on an even greater overhaul then JFK, though Kennedy did break the barriers and reset minimum standards of decency and optimism we’re still trying to re-achieve – but if we don’t do our own part, however small, with as pure a heart as we can muster in our jaded innocence – like long shining blooms still strong to the sun – then we will falter.
I don’t’ think that’ll happen. If we don’t let it.
I think we won’t.
Why?
Besides my basic belief in the good in human nature?
Action.
First from us, the populace, demanding, over and over, like even my small voice in many of my own blog posts, that we must have free and open elections, available and unconstrained, protected and cherished, for all of us!
It’s the basis to ensure our democracy, and it’s the first order of business coming forward –
There’s a lot of details in the article in the above tweet, I hope you’ll give it a look 😊
It’s the promise (anticipation) of a promise (intent) ❤️ –
from Joe & Kamala – I believe them 💕
I think the optimism and hope and faith in our country, in my lifetime, that JFK took off the ground like the rocket that eventually made it to the moon, and Jimmy Carter rescued and held the line as much as possible after Nixon, and Clinton re-ignited, and Obama burst forth into today’s media consciousness, Joseph R. Biden, Jr – Joe, with Kamala – may finally cement into place the promises of so many good men and women.
Take care everyone! I’m very hopeful! 😊

A ton of work for sure! Thank goodness Joe & company’d been preparing, what an amazing start, and right after the inauguration! And today was even more filled with so much of what we need; we’re so lucky to have had Joe and Kamala as choices to vote for 💕
