February 18, 2021 – Austin Winter Storm, Last Day of Snow? Short Videos and a Few Pics

Rains fall heavy enough, even if rarely, that numerous drainage pathways like that above exist in most neighborhoods. The rare snow provides a great bed to showcase itself plus provide visual perspective of the land. Kinda nice side effect 😊

Though not as heavy as earlier in the week, this was still pretty to see; such a rare sight in Austin.

The above video was in the morning, and the video below was later in the day.

The weird snow shape below was a surprise as we gouged snow into buckets to use as snow-melt water to flush the toilets. Water pressure is returning here and there in the city, but seemingly randomly. Because of yesterday’s light rain during the day, a thin ice field formed over the softer previous day’s snow. All stuff new to me, lol!

Below is a usually not quite so rustic view on a nearby road and hill.

What’s also unusual, besides snow of course 😊 is the lack of a constant flow of vehicles on this road. Nice. Even if not under the current circumstances.

Such a country feel of a view so often hid away within the green brush and trees.

My final image is a variation of my header image on another post featuring our host’s wonderful cat ❤️

Instead of luxuriating by the window with the snow outside, as in the post linked to above, it was time to lounge on the comfy owner’s chair 😊
