July 24, 2021 – My Newest Poster Upload @FineArtAmerica – Barton Springs Greenbelt Austin Rocks at the Flats Poster

Yesterday posting about my resuming progress on a new watercolor on canvas (with absorbent ground) via beginning a study process for adding a figure to the nearly finished work, I mentioned I’d spent my 1st time at the nearby greenbelt in nearly 2 weeks!

It was a pristine morning, warm, sunny, lightly breezy, and hardly crowded at all – in other words : wonderful! 😊

Above, via a new poster, now uploaded to Fine Art America for prints and gifts, is part of the terrain and views I came across —

And below, in two screenshots, are 2 full resolution previews Fine Art America offers for viewers, though here on my site I do constrict full resolution due to monetary considerations for use of image space etc. One day I may not need thinking about that, lol! But right now… ☺️

Still, what I can show here, right now, isn’t bad at all!

Part of why I decided to present two preview out-takes, is to help explain why I chose this image for my newest Barton Creek poster series image.

There’s a nice variety and range of textures and colors, from the sky to cliffs to vegetation to rocks plus water reflecting the colors around it.

There’s also literally a long detailed distancing visible. The rocks (and the reflections in the water) in the foreground are quite detailed, there’s a crest of those rocks in the mid-distance that disappears into a shadowed deep green of vegetation (shown in the preview below), and then of course the sky.

Some of those elements of interest are fairly obvious in the small image of the poster, some appear to be only hinted at, but in a full size poster they’ll all be more apparent, making, I think, a really nice poster 😊

Hopefully next post I’ll have gotten a few practice swipes at creating the figure from yesterday’s post (see tweet and link below) on paper with watercolor.

Meanwhile I did at least get to share w/ya’ll one of the many views the greenbelt offered me on my welcome visit back to it ♥️

Stay well everyone – cases are surging among the unvaccinated here in Texas, infecting us (even if mildly) who have been; so time for cautiousness, again….
