
I included my most recent updated image from a post a few days ago further below.
Besides the figure work (not yet complete), you can see where I continued to rework the area around the figure, setting her off more completely.
Working with acrylics, and adding a dash of water, all on Golden’s light molding paste, gives me a taste of how watercolors work.
But the acrylic paint still dries “very” fast. Til it does though, I can lift/dilute a bit of the paint to emulate how watercolors work. Plus, once dry, it’s easy to paint over with a better color blend.
Though my figure needs more work, nuancing and detailing, it’s finally set in well enough I can now turn to the world around her.
Wish me luck! I think this little 16×20’s gonna show me a lot more of the both the similarities and the differences ‘tween acrylics and watercolors 😊
