First Page Critique of “One Night in the Hill Country”

Yesterday, I posted a pre-announcement of a critique of my new thriller novella, “One Night in the Hill Country.”

Today I get my first feedback (outside close folk and family) on my newest book, a suspense thriller, “One Night in the Hill Country, courtesy of Ray Rhamey on his site, Flogging the Quill.

If you’re unfamiliar with Ray’s site, he accepts submissions from writers who’d like their first page (17 lines I think) reviewed. It’s based on his popular monthly post, Flogging a Pro, on Writer’s Unboxed, where he does the same for top name best-selling authors.

Comments about these best selling authors’ first pages can be pretty surprising 🙂

Both Ray’s well-known writer, and less-known writer (smile), critiques, and the comments, are a fun learning experience for me. I hope you’ll take a look at some of them, including mine of course.
