I’ve a Guest Post on Andrew Knighton’s Site 🙂
I’m very glad to say I’ve my first guest post on another person’s site, Short Chapters, My Growing Preference
As proof of the internet’s reach, even for folk like me, Andrew’s located in Northern England, and I’m situated in Texas (though currently visiting Vermont, my wife’s home state.)
Shorter segments has been my growing preference, both in reading and writing, for a while. And mimics my usual poetry length of one page or so.
I get to go into all that in this short piece. Please go by if you can and say hello (smiles.)
Excerpt:
Whether I’m reading shorter chapters or writing them, I’m finding more and more I really enjoy how they encapsulate micro moments in a story’s thread. Like scenes in TV show or movie I really enjoy, like The Middle or instance.
What’s surprising to me is, I should’ve know all along!
Andrew’s an interesting fellow. Be sure and check out his “about” page – http://andrewknighton.com/about/

Lunch with Grandma and Grandpa
My newest short story, “Lunch with Grandma and Grandpa” is my first work where I consciously allowed myself to apply the concept of shorter chapters.
I like the concept of “chapters” vs segments, because they seem to be more complete pieces in themselves. I don’t think that’s a necessary definition, but just something that fits with my own perceptions, and thus works for me.
“Lunch with Grandma and Grandpa” is a short story, set in Austin Texas, and available via regular major online outlets, subscription services, and libraries.
