Adan’s Self Portraits, #20 – Aligned with a Half Moon Over Downtown Austin at Zilker Botanical Garden

I knew right away, with the scent of flowers in the fresh air and a view of Austin’s growing skyline, I wanted a selfie with my walking stick set to that background.

Zilker Botanical Garden has been described as both the jewel in the heart of Austin and as the centerpiece of Austin’s Zilker Park and rightfully so! It is beautifully varied with paths and types of vegetation and covers enough ground to satisfy a full afternoon or morning!

Various festivals are placed there, esp those relating to butterfly migration. And image captured at last year’s fun is on my FAA image site at – https://fineartamerica.com/featured/spotted-treasure-felipe-adan-lerma.html –

It was in this background of personal and city history I arrived and instantly saw the backdrop I wanted for my next selfie. New walking stick literally in hand 🙂 and just purchased at the Botanical Garden’s gift shop I asked a very gracious young couple if they wouldn’t mind trying to do the garden and city skyline justice, and, not to worry how I looked, I could “fix” that at home with software, lol!

Luckily a dapple of sunlight shone gently on me –
And the moon hung brightly above 😊
