Though not markedly different, my final watercolor rendition for Barton Springs Greenbelt Poster Version 2 has slightly more blue, a gentle easing of some of the edges from Dappled, when I’d removed the masking fluid I’d 1st applied before painting, and an overall flow with clarity I really like! 😊

The added warm blues are lightly applied, and there’s one pale yellow/gold soft edge line working it’s way down from the distance in the distant park of the creek.
All together a little warmer softer image ❤️
Tell me what you think 😊

ps – I’ve started a 25×40 inch canvas version, and may have to decide it’s finished, but gonna let it sit the week as I’ll be out of pocket w/a temporary venture. Hope to have images of both later this week ☺️ Stay well everyone!

[…] At 25×40 this new work has stretched my memories and my muscles of years ago when I did much larger work. I just figured it was time to explore working on canvas again for a bit 😊 Below, on the left, is the work as posted back July 11th about inlaying light modeling paste, working with the pen and ink I hand applied 1st (vs printing my ink pattern as I did with my recent watercolor posters on paper). Thanks so much, Tiffany! It’s a tough “choose” so to speak, even for me, but that 2nd one is one to aim for going forward I think, in some variation or other, lol! 😊 ♥️

I like the second on from July 7, because of all the nuances and variations, giving more sense of the place.

I agree, easily the most natural and like the gentle yet evident wildness of the greenbelt 😊 The masking fluid underneath made it impractical, would never hold up without stuff peeling off etc. I just tried light modeling paste on canvas, and it appears to give the paint the texture nuance the July 7th rendition had (because of the variable surface texture the masking fluid underneath) and is very promising to capture some of that same nuancing. Been a very interesting series for me learning-wise to document, not to mention fun; thanks so much for the feedback, Tatiana! Invaluable 😊
