January 24, 2021 – Update on My “The Old American Artist Twitter Excerpt Series”, It’s Nearing It’s Initial Run!

My excerpt series from my novella, The Old American Artist, is nearing the end of its initial run!

I’ve about two weeks (Mon-Fri) of excerpts left, and folks have been commenting to me on the increasing emotional impact between Arturo and Rosetta – as it should be 😊 💕

And I say “initial” run because, once this sequence ends, I’ll begin again, repeating the same excerpt series – but – this time with my commentary on the impact of seeing and reading and hearing the words in my head again, after several years.

Some commentary will be reflecting to personal moments that gave rise to the fictional scene. Other commentary will be on feelings revisiting moments and / or places in the story, that though factionalized, is still semi-biographical. Some scenes take me to moments in my creative development, and illicit feelings and ideas about my own then and my own work now. It’s a strange but wonderful thing I’ve been fortunate to experience – reflection via re-experience of life events.

I think it’ll be interesting to me to articulate those parallels, those convergences and departures within myself of three levels – the story, the autobiographical component, and the creative aspect.

Hope you tune in. I’ll be sure and do an into post to set the new series off ☺️

Lastly, I “think” I’ve found the box with my original oil of the San Antonio riverwalk, the image I use for the cover of my book. I saw it accidentally a few weeks ago, tucked way behind my wife’s clothes in one of the closets, but I haven’t pulled it out, or looked at yet. Actually, haven’t seen the life painting in over a decade – should be fun!

I’ve never even uploaded the image sell prints and gifts on Fine Art America ’cause I never got to take a really nice capture for it – yet!

This time, in time for when the new excerpt series with commentary starts, I really would like to have that 😊
