It’s so strange yet so true of Austin’s Barton Creek Greenbelt (and Violet Crown Trail) that it is rich in nuance of nature & light.
The morning I captured my image above is the same morning, simply by twisting back and to my left, the image of a young lady (Payton) leaping off a small cliff ledge into the creek where the water is thankfully a bit deeper than seen above, lol!
Yet the two scenes not only co-exist, they’re contemporaneous! 😊
Part of my Fine Art America page’s description for “Morning Light in Barton Springs Greenbelt” reads –
I was taking action shots of folks using a relatively low cliff across the creek to jump into the water and during a lull, looked around and, literally, twisting from my waist, my feet planted to return to my view of the launching ledge of the cliff, spotted this semi-shaded tunnel like path to a paradoxically rock tumbled place of peace. No matter how many composition variations I tried capturing as follow-up shots, none were as appealing to me as this 1st spontaneous capture ❤️

I tout the true quality of the above pictured preview on my Fine Art America site and saw this (varies by the image size I upload) –

That’s pretty impressive, worth quoting I think, lol!
And below, in my tweet (with direct link to the post listed below it), is my blog post of the event I gave in my description 😊
One never knows how long water will be in the greenbelt (old times I speak with on the trail say this is the best in 3-5 years!), or how long we’ll get to enjoy living by this area, but for now, it’s a grand opportunity for us, one we hope to remain healthy enough to enjoy as often as weather and time permit ❤️
Stay well everyone! 💕
