Paul is a daily contributor to social media with positive messages and has been so since I first saw his posts nearly ten years ago. I’ve lost & re-found his site and encouraging thoughts several times over the years and most recently, happily, came across it again 😊

His contributions are usually very short and to the point, and – for me – linger far into the day ❤️

And though his work is so to the point there’s not much more than what I’m showing above, if you like what you see and feel, you might want to stop by his post and let him know – plus explore some of his earlier posts. It’s a great pick-me-up!

After a surprise low of 25 this morning, we’re due to warm up to the low 60s and the sun’s already been shining warmly (no summer sun yet, lol!) – looking forward to working on some art projects & going with Sheila to Gold’s Gym, then maybe a bowl of hot soup at Central Market after 😊

Hope everyone’s day goes well – take care everyone!

  • A Walk Among the WildFlowers – New Watercolor on Absorbent Ground, May 2020
As one can tell by my photo below, I took a few liberties, but to some extent, that happens whether I plan it or not, lol 😂 But I like the result too much to alter anything on it. Another version, another time, will elicit a different response, and I do think this is one motif I’ll want to do more of, vs variations for just practice 😊

A bit of news out of my home state of Texas. For the past decade, the two main political parties of that state have battled in and out of court in regard to things vote related. Actually seemingly everything vote related, lol!
  • Covid-19 Visit to Lady Bird Wildflower Center May 2020 💐
First trip I can think of for Sheila & myself, much less with Max, since maybe pre-Covid! 💕 Short, less than 2 hours, and less than 15 minutes from home, but what a treat! 😊

A superb article, mostly for two reasons. One, it covers a huge range of our everyday activities. Two, it differentiates into most the activities, delineating what makes it risky or less so, in general.

The current work, for now titled Dancing Free, below the Paris painting, shows how the transparent ground “clouds up”, creating the soft streaking across the black gesso.

I think if I had to name one important goal I accomplished with this small Paris work, it’s that I stopped much shorter than usual in re to feeling I overdid the image. Some may say I “way” stopped short of overdoing 😂 but I truly like the white & lighter negative spaces.

“… there was a point, decades ago, I finally realized I had this tug-a-war going on within me : translate an image to paint (realistically faithful to the photo or plein air scene), or go abstract, usually way abstract 😊 ”

Thanks again, everyone! 😊

    • Oh, no, wouldn’t want to run for anything like that, lol! I’m much too aware of my “kindness” lapses, now a days anyway; it’s taken being nearly 70 to slow down enough to grasp “some” of that; probably a work in progress to the end 😂 But thank you, Paul, very kind of “you” to say 😊
