The changes from Pale Blue to Lush are easy to see, but those from Lush to Dappled aren’t quite as apparent, the latter two being much closer in their final renditions.
Again, as I’ve written in the series’ previous posts, I’m determined to see how an actual work changes, evolves (or not), vs starting a new one each time from scratch each time I want to experience a differing effect or emphasis.
Not always a process I’ll take in the future I’m sure, but I needed to see and feel the continuity from stage to stage more clearly.
And while I still feel any one stage is good enough to stand on its own – and thus each stage is available on Fine Art America for prints & gifts – my goad was to bring the painting to as satisfying a point as possible, hopefully not ruining it, lol! And creating something I’ll be glad I continued with —
The image far right below, which I call “Dappled” is, even at 1st glance, not that different from Lush.
Yet, as my red circling shows, a lot happened when the masking fluid was removed.
While Lush is calm yet more energized than Pale Blue, the 3rd rendition, Dappled – even while retaining some of nature’s calming I experienced the day I took my originating photo – ripples with energy within that calm.
That’s the best I can explain it right now.
And it’s not quite done yet… 😊
My (I’m pretty sure) final rendition, which is mostly done now, hopes to restore a small amount of gentleness I miss in Dappled that was in the previous versions; softening areas & maybe adding touches of warm blue 🙏
Keep wishing me luck! It must be working! ❤️

ps – the “faces” in the lower right I mentioned the end of my prev post is markedly more visible again, even if not as much so as in Pale Blue 😊
