Organizing the images from the trip Sheila and I took to Paris in late 2012 has been both a remembrance and a review.

Like with painting, I like working with nuances of light and places of beauty.  So especially enjoy selecting, then correcting or enhancing the images.

There’s the memories of where we walked for over a month.  Rarely rushed, usually leisurely with wide eyes and a vision of times and events we either didn’t know much about, or didn’t even know existed.

Then, in the creation of a light commentary, finding links with tidbits and chunks of interesting information, usually historical, often times philosophical, ie, the struggle for freedom of speech and expression.

The struggle of the simple right to live one’s life in peace and dignity.

Often, in the images, I’d find plaques or names that told me more of where we’d walked.

And almost always, there was the push between what I remembered we experienced in the moment as we moved and breathed within Paris, and what it’s come to mean to me now, a year and a half later.

Thus, the newer “Days” – starting with Day 13, have more reflection.

The older, initial postings I created, Days 1-12, are free, on my site.

I have one interesting exception: the post for Days 1-2 has been updated and is available free on Scribd as a PDF doc.

Below are links to my Paris page, and two Paris series I have on my site.

Thanks so much everyone 🙂
