Continuing with more new paintings I’ve recently set in motion, Angel appears to be a dark swirl but is actually hiding some carefully but casually placed masking fluid lines. I’ll be showing some detail shots of “Angel”‘s more recent state tomorrow, but am still working on the painting as a whole.
This particular masking fluid experiment is almost a direct descendant of an abstract study on paper I recently wrecked, lol! My post here tells how 😊 –

I’d mentioned in that post I’d felt that “accident” helped focus my attention on what I was doing more in general (it’s kinda funny), including my masking fluid design. That’s been a challenge for me dating back to when I was 1st using masking fluid on watercolor on absorbent ground (vs this painting on Golden’s light molding paste; this is the link to the one I bought – https://amzn.to/3jllMha).
On the good side, adding promise that this painting may actually be working out well, is that it’s predecessor, the image itself of Abstract Study 1, went on to being my most viewed image on Fine Art America for 2 weeks running!
Gonna hope the best for Angel also ☺️
