   This looks interesting, Felipe. What a great idea to have your printer use watercolour paper – I might just ask mine if that would be possible. The idea of creating several different versions of a drawing sounds appealing. I’m glad you got started again!

      It’s an idea I’ve been tinkering with a couple months now. Almost all printers will use watercolor paper, esp if it’s not too thick. I think 300 lb wouldn’t even work on my friend’s commercial printer! The other factor is re the ink. These are laser pigment based inks, so they’re fairly stable and won’t “run” with water added. For me, so far, I think the 90 to 140 lb seem to work really well, and recently I think we’ve found the smooth side (to print on) works better than the rough side. If you’re doing a grey scale or bw line drawing, it can be set to either – bw (all the same color density) or grey scale (light to dark, but white to black range). Adding color is tricky, as a lot of printers’ ink pigments are hard to match up to what we concoct mixing watercolors, unless you go to a more specialized ($$$) printer. Printing a grey scale or bw line art rendition (even shading) should be very inexpensive, esp supplying your own paper etc. You’ll have to let us know on your blog if you try it out!
