Not sure I remember a tie for most viewed image for a particular week on Fine Art America before, though there were many weeks in the early years I didn’t follow that then. It’s a good indicator I think of what’s catching folk’s eyes, even if no sales jump out from it at the time.
Similarities between the 2 are —
- Both images, seen individually below, with info on related blog posts from before, are both abstracts
- Both are minimalist to some degree or other
- Each one involves surface texture.
- And both use a liberal amount of Light Molding Paste
Interestingly, my application of that molding paste is also how they most differ —
- Though both pieces are “thick”, most of the image of Abstract Minimalism 2 is on top of the light molding paste, while with Yellow Impressionist Abstract 1’s paste is embedded with pigment
- Plus, visually one has color variations, while the other is nearly monochrome
- Additionally, the top figure is in a traditional 18×24, while the bottom image’s in what to me is a mild panorama
- Lasting, for no real reason other than just the way it worked out, the top image’s canvas is a regular 3/4″ stretched canvas, while the bottom image is on a 1.5 inch gallery wrap canvas
So below, I’ve included Fine Art America links to each co-winner 😊 plus one related blog post link.

Yellow Impressionist Abstract 1, as I mentioned earlier, is my 1st panoramic in a long while; even if by my standards “mildly panoramic” lol! Ironically, most of my elaborations (experiments) since on this abstract variation have been on small 6×6 squares. I guess I figure I can try out more variations more easily and quickly that way ☺️
Below is a look at my top 12. It’s interesting how some of my earliest (2016) Fine Art America uploads still pop up, and, how my art work is now complimenting my photography work. That feels very good to me 🙏 ❤️

It’d be interesting, ie I’m playing with a for-the-future idea, of trying something like Joan Mitchell’s use of multiple canvases to create a much more extended pano – we’ll see 😊
Joan’s feeling / idea of “carrying landscapes within” her also appeals to me, which, if you look at these 2 abstracts a certain way, sure helps me accept the fact these are “completely” fathomless abstract creations – and might be what frees me back into abstract work in a major way since the early 1980s ( here – here – here ) also mostly in acrylic.
But, with more an idea how my abstracted images are originating.
And for fun, here’s a Google link to quotes about art & nature – https://www.google.com/search?q=quotes+art+%26+nature
Stay well everyone! 💕
