February 25, 2022 – New 10×20 Inch #Acrylic #PaletteKnife #AbstractArt Upload @FineArtAmerica – Pink with Maroon Landscape and Bird
Second of two 10×20 inch acrylic color fields I’m listing on Creative Arts Society’s Spring Online Market ( begins March 01, 2022 ), Pink with Maroon Landscape joins my 1st selection, Blue with Gold Twilight. Both should be easier to ship if sold, and sold to a buyer outside the Austin area. Neither is offered…

February 23, 2022 – New 24×36 Inch #Acrylic #PaletteKnife #LyricalAbstract Upload @FineArtAmerica – Scenic Pink with Yellow
I look at this image, of a new 2×3 foot size color field, knowing how large it looks and feels, even at this relatively medium size, and realize maybe I need some size perspective shots, like with me holding or beside the painting.

February 22, 2022 – My ( Latest ) Idea for Promoting My WordPress Blog Posts on Twitter (Besides My Pinned Tweet), Part 5
Last year ( 2021 ) I posted several ideas I’ve been trying out to draw more / better attention to my blog posts, and my pinned tweets do seem to be having a good effect. My current pinned tweet itself ( see below ) has even evolved past what I’d last posted, and is currently…

February 21, 2022 – 3rd Straight Week, My Most Viewed Image this Past Week @FineArtAmerica, Easy Stroll – New 16×20 #LyricalAbstract #AcrylicPainting
With a healthy margin over my others in my 12 most viewed at Fine Art America for the week, Easy Stroll – should I say it? – strolled in as most viewed for a 3rd week! ❤️ Also, as mentioned in my previous most-viewed post, I very recently included it in my application the Austin’s…

February 20, 2022 – Reblog, “Spring Jubilee” via Tiffany Arp-Daleo
My regular readers know I’ve been gladly reblogging this young lady for a bit now. Her work is unique and filled with hope, energy, festiveness and – one of the points of this reblog – often quite textured with literally a multi-media smorgasbord of creative intution. In the comment thread of her post, she and…

February 19, 2022 – New 10×20 Inch #Acrylic #PaletteKnife #AbstractArt Upload @FineArtAmerica – Blue with Gold Twilight
Typically I don’t post back to back about my new Fine Art America uploads, but Blue with Gold Twilight, besides being one of my better efforts, lol! is also part of a group of 3 paintings I’ve recently submitted to Creative Art Society here in Austin for their Online Market.

February 16, 2022 – 3 New #Pink #Abstract Acrylics : Pink Vortex, Pink Cosmic Tunnel, Scenic Pink with Yellow
I’m finding many benefits and even more enjoyment creating similar color field paintings of a single hue than I’d expected ❤️
-
February 15, 2022 – New 18×24 Inch #Acrylic #PaletteKnife #AbstractArt Upload @FineArtAmerica – Pink Vortex
I’ve expected to do variations of colors I liked and find them interesting how similar and yet also how different, when the paint is dry and the textures are set, they might end up to be.

February 14, 2022 – My Most Viewed Image this Past Week @FineArtAmerica, Easy Stroll – New 16×20 #LyricalAbstract #AcrylicPainting
Happy Valentines Day everyone! And, it’s also my wife’s birthday!! ♥️ So it’s kinda extra nice to post that Easy Stroll repeats as I most viewed on Fine Art America during the 1st week of February. The painting itself reminds me of both stories she’s told me of her year long stay in the jungles…

February 12, 2022 – New In-Progress 24×36, Hopefully an Acrylic-Watercolor Mesh, Image ala Frederick Childe Hassam’s On the Balcony, My Painting – Dreaming With the Moon and Stars, Part 2, Struggling with the Figure
My previous post, about several series of paintings I’m seeing if I can pull off ( though one series, Impressionist Abstract panoramas, is well under way ) — I mentioned a work similar to some potential figure series I’d like to explore creating, and that is this work — Dreaming with the Stars and Moon.…

February 11, 2022 – Literally Alliterating My Painting Creativity via Developing Several Series Simultaneously
Couldn’t resist the little word play in the title, lol! But it struck me recently how, without really trying, I’d begun developing several series of painting ideas at once! My color fields above, my Impressionist Abstract series featuring a dominant color, in my 12×24 gallery wrapped canvas format, is my largest series to-date, with approx…

February 10, 2022 – Checking My Art at The Old Bakery and Emporium (across from the State Capital) Austin, Texas
No new sales for a bit now at the Old Bakery & Emporium, but given an epic pandemic death rate December into late January ( and continuing at an unacceptable rate even now ), the colleges and schools keeping students off campus til just lately, an almost as bad winter storm as last year (…

February 07, 2022 – Austin Winter Storm, A Tale of Two Cities Repeat? – Day 5, I Think We Dodged a Bullet – Temperature Comparison Charts For Austin / Galveston / San Antonio / Houston / Brownsville 2021 / 2022
Upfront, before I get started, clearly we were much more prepared grid-wise than last year, and clearly this year’s winter storm ( 2022 ) though bad, was not a strong comparable to 2021 in duration, temperature depths & breath across our state. And for me, I’m very thankful for all those factors. But there is…

February 06, 2022 – Austin Winter Storm, A Tale of Two Cities Repeat? We Hope Not – Day 4, Recovering
I’d hope to get a nicely detailed post with lots of images to discuss, as much as a regular citizen w/out much input or info can do, how this month’s winter storm compares to last year’s ( literally ) deadly ice freeze, and I will, but it looks to be for tomorrow ( Monday )…

February 06, 2022 – My Most Viewed Image this Past Week @FineArtAmerica, Easy Stroll – New 16×20 #LyricalAbstract #AcrylicPainting
Among my many experimental works, of all sizes & various mediums, Easy Stroll is a kind of prototype for me. I’ve not created other work like it again yet, even though this among my favorites. But I’ve several like this….

February 05, 2022 – Austin Winter Storm, A Tale of Two Cities Repeat? We Hope Not – Day 3, Almost in the Clear?
While extremely grateful our own electricity and heat and ( eventually ) internet held during this year’s early February winter storm here in Austin, and am also both surprised and equally thankful the state’s power grid held in general this time around, compared to last year’s mid February storm, there are a few things to…

February 04, 2022 – Austin Winter Storm, A Tale of Two Cities Repeat? We Hope Not – Day 2, Holding On, Better Than Last Year ( so far )
Posting new updates to top of post — 7:48 am – still have power, and internet; news showing huge # of wrecks and big trees down, temps in low 20s; this being “a” winter storm vs 5 last year is sure helping though; keeping our fingers crossed, facets dripping, and keeping the coffee warm ☕️…

February 03, 2022 – Austin Winter Storm, A Tale of Two Cities Repeat? We Hope Not – Updating as Able
I posted an initial post this morning that I’d prepared the night before not knowing if we’d have power or internet etc this morning and woke at 5:30am to no internet. Using my phone as a hot spot I updated the post, and now’ve decided a new post with updates throughout the day might be…

February 03, 2022 – Austin Winter Storm, A Tale of Two Cities Repeat? We Hope Not
Two weeks shy of the day I posted the above pic at the start of Texas’ worst power / weather event I’ve lived through here in Texas, or anywhere else, during my 71 years – I’m reposting this not in memory, or memoriam for all those we lost, but because we’re literally on the cusp…

February 02, 2022 – New In-Progress 24×36, Hopefully an Acrylic-Watercolor Mesh, Image ala Frederick Childe Hassam’s On the Balcony, My Painting – Dreaming With the Moon and Stars, Part 1
Related to my previous post’s also-in-progress painting, Walking with the Stars, Dreaming with the Moon and Stars has many similarities and, if all goes to my plan-with-room for spontaneous, also significant differences. Both feature using Golden’s Fiber Paste for the base for the night sky base over an acrylic-watercolor wash of yellow. Both feature….

February 01, 2022 – The 8 Year Old Helps with Continuing In-Progress Painting, Walking With the Stars
Back in early January, when I 1st mentioned working on Walking With the Stars, I also mentioned our 8 year old grandson had been ( and is ) a big help in getting this 24×36 complex-textured work along. Now I’m finally remedying that, lol!

January 27, 2022 – New 16×20 Inch #Acrylic #PaletteKnife #AbstractArt Upload @FineArtAmerica – Easy Stroll

January 23, 2022 – My Most Viewed Image this Past Week @FineArtAmerica, Blue Impressionist Abstract 1 – New 12×24 #LyricalAbstract #AcrylicPainting
It’s kinda neat how these impressionist abstract panoramas I’ve been working on conjure up so many varying images, or at least semi-suggested images, lol! I see waves and sky and beach, the horizon line shifting from lower 1/3 to upper 1/3 depending how I squint 😊 Working bottom to top, I can even see….

January 22, 2022 – Rethinking (re-engineering?) How I Post About Images I Upload to #FineArtAmerica
My most emerging challenge as I ramp up being able to and wanting to paint more often – each day if possible – is time. Not a big surprise for all the folks with lots of interests and/or commitments, even for us 70+ year olds, lol! Though, surprisingly, just as difficult to navigate the demands…

January 19, 2022 – How I Applied Dianne Mize’s Art Tip, The Visual Path, To My Work-In-Progress, Part 1
It began after reading then reblogging Dianne Mize’s most recent art tip, The Visual Path, plus some reading I’ve been doing in The Adjacent Possible, about listening to one’s creative needs and acting on them. I’d already begun a new violet lay-in, destined, I thought, to be called Violet Impressionist Abstract 1; all along the…

January 16, 2022 – My Most Viewed Image this Past Week @FineArtAmerica, Fantasy Landscape – New 16×20 #LyricalAbstract #AcrylicPainting
Fantasy Landscape is currently residing at the Old Bakery & Emporium in downtown Austin across from the Texas State Capital. It’s a super playful acrylic I didn’t realize would be “so much” a landscape as it turned out, lol! All part of the “discovery” process inside each artist, often call the landscape inside, probably in…

A few posts ago I announced about my art audition for an upcoming show at Austin local gallery, Art for the People, and mentioned I’d had a couple of my Impressionist Abstract panoramas chosen! January 13, 2022 – 2 New Works In-Progress : Good Conversation + Healthy Vines Happy Hearts – #AbstractPainting #LyricalAbstraction #TheAdjacentPossible
Wasn’t sure what I wanted to paint this particular day, just really needed to 😊 I’ve been reading a creativity book, The Adjacent Possible; filled with good ideas, one of which emphasizes “just starting.” A concept the author calls zero to 1, which she explains is like this huge leap, from nothing, to something. She…

January 10, 2022 – New Work In-Progress : Walking the Stars
Recently one of my posts mentioned working on a larger than usual for me canvas, 24×36, on the floor, with the 8 year old. I didn’t think to get a pic of him adding some of the specklings of black on the dried fiber paste, but wanted to show ya’ll what the image, Walking the…

The 1st, in yellow, is featured in the live tweet further below. Like my other…

January 08, 2022 – New 16×20 Inch #Acrylic Upload @FineArtAmerica – Fantasy Landscape
This is one of those works I didn’t “see” the landscape til I saw it from another room, lol! But I’d immediately liked the colors and sway of texture, and though it’s kinda rough is spots, it’s part of what makes it work I think. Usually I’ll hold a very new work like this for…

January 07, 2022 – Delivering New Art to the Old Bakery and Emporium (across from the State Capital) Austin, Texas – Valentine Hearts and More!!!
No mere change-out, I swapped out most ( but not all ) of my originals and brought in a stack of 6×9 original acrylic and watercolor hearts. The best way for me to package the latter was to place the on-paper hearts in 8×10 sleeves with an acid-free backing. I did well with these last…
