June 19, 2022 – Happy Father’s Day! – My Dad : Tough Choices and A Life Well Lived
The pic of my dad above, left side, looking down, lips pursed, touching his fingers together to help make the connections he needed inside himself, was before he left for several months-long journeys from Brownsville to Houston to secure work and a place for us to live.

June 18, 2022 – A Little Art Project While Not Being Able to Paint During Our Move to #TheLadyBird #AustinTexas

-
June 14, 2022 – Visited a New-to-Us 70+ Years Old Cafe Near #TheLadyBird #AustinTexas Before Our Move – Cisco’s
My own sense of what’s authentic Tex-Mex food is grounded on my two grandma’s, both home based in Brownsville, Texas; then via my Mom of course, through all the decades I spent growing up in Houston.

June 12, 2022 – Continuing Our Move to #TheLadyBird #AustinTexas Despite 100+ Degree Heat & AC Going Out – Whew!!!
First our thermostat went out at our current apt, then the capacitor – fortunately the weekend emergency person got it fixed and started dropping our indoor temp from 84 downward ( and that 84 was with floor and ceiling fans on and ALL windows darkened to outside light sources, lol! June 03, 2022 – An Update on the Search for Answers to Prevent Another #Uvalde, Another #BuffaloNY
I believe the media should have live debates, regularly – weekly or daily, with representatives of these and opposing and mediating views. And then we should vote. As a nation. Without impediment to voting, including far away or scarce voting locations as per populations. At least it’d be a start….

June 02, 2022 – “Morning’s Promise” : Completed, After 2 Days of Finishing Touches
A different kind of textural experiment for me, as most the painting’s pigments were laid in with generous amounts of either transparent white acrylic, heavy matte gel acrylic or both. With sprinkles of marble dust here and there 😊

I’ve read and heard ( on TV) recently that the problem of all this unwanted unnecessary violence stems from “mental health issues” and / or evil – both of which I readily agree as being individually or even together the cause; though neither as sufficient as a blanket root cause.

May 26, 2022 – #KVUE News Austin Had an Article That Got Me Thinking More About Gun Violence and Potential Gun Control Laws
…it’s that latter position, gun controls that do exist, and their being exemplified as markers of failures in their communities to stem unlawful violence that got me thinking. See below –

May 25, 2022 – When Innocent Children Are Gunned Down, We Are in the Land of Death and MUST Change This
There is ample room between no one anywhere anytime having access to a gun and everyone anywhere anytime having any gun they want & be able to carry it about anywhere anytime they want. That’s what Democracy is about.

Places In or Near Austin Texas You Can See and Buy My Prints ( Art and Photography ) #PrimalGallery #OldBakery&Emporium

May 17, 2022 – I Have a Lot of Happenings ( art & personal ) This Week, But Still Finding Moments To Start a New Painting : Morning’s Promise
It’s nice to dance the surface of my canvas as needed. And able ☺️ And right now, a light step, at an easy pace, may give me the time – and energy – to get more than a handful of other needed things also done this week. Not a bad compromise. For now 😊

May 15, 2022 – My Most Viewed Image this Past Week @FineArtAmerica, “Spring Rising”
I’d done a lot of deep or darker night-like paintings for a bit, so it felt pretty nice to lighten up my palette for awhile. Working back & forth, from the two approaches – playing the potential good from both approaches seems to suit my Libra middle, lol!

May 11, 2022 – Reblog / Review : Joan Mitchell, “I carry my landscapes around with me” – #Polyptychs
…my reading of Joan Mitchell’s work – while often including much of that same connection, speaks more directly to me about the impact of the canvas before me in that process. Especially most specifically in regard to Joan’s work with multi-panel / multi-canvas works of art – ie, polyptychs!
