September 14, 2022 – Adan’s #ArtPoems / #PhotoPoems : Faith in a Safe Return
Sometimes when i haven’t been able to paint or photo shoot, or even exercise enough to forget I haven’t been creative, a beguilingly simple poem to one of my own art works does the trick 🙏☺️

June 22, 2022 – New! – Walking in Light Poster
With our move to our new apt home done except for the sorting and placements, and Sheila and I are tiptoeing back into doing some exercise sets via SilverSneakers’ live Zoom class options, I’m finally beginning to post the few posters I’d gotten to work on before moving became a full time job, lol!

June 18, 2022 – A Little Art Project While Not Being Able to Paint During Our Move to #TheLadyBird #AustinTexas
Obviously, as per my recent posts about moving to our new locale at The LadyBird, I’ve been stretched for time and energy. Moving in one’s 70s is no fun task, though Sheila and I are relishing our new location more and more as we near completing our transition.

December 06, 2021 – My Most Viewed Image This Past Week @FineArtAmerica, Summer is a Lady
The holidays are upon us, especially if one counts them as extending to Valentines Day, my wife’s birthday ❤️ So it’s especially nice to see this beautiful image crop up again after being most viewed on my Fine Art America site 5 weeks in a row late this past summer!

December 05, 2021 – Sold! At the Old Bakery and Emporium (across from the State Capital) Austin, Texas – 12×18 Print, Spring is a Lady!
My 1st sale of this early watercolor / line art figure painting of mine. Uploaded early spring of this year (2021), it’s gotten fairly nice views, thought it’s twin ( flipped horizontally ), Summer is a Lady has been my most viewed on Fine Art America 1/2 a dozen different weeks! Very glad their both…

November 29, 2021 – Fine Art America News : “Easy Morning” and “Walking in Light” Featured in Art Groups + Sold a “If Dads Were” Coffee Cup
Both figures in the painting above and below are watercolors, though, Easy Morning is all watercolor on absorbent ground. Walking in Light’s paint, around the figure below, is acrylic; both the watercolor figure and remainder of my painting done on Golden’s Light Molding Paste. Golden has evidently been at improving acrylics a long time, as…

November 12, 2021 – New #Acrylic #Watercolor Upload @FineArtAmerica – Walking in Light
Back near mid-October I posted about beginning a couple of new projects and featured my initial layin image below-left. The simple shift to the final image is a bit deceiving, as both the foreground and background had more of the intense coloring, some of which came off when I removed the masking fluid I’d applied.…

October 20, 2021 – Sold! At the Old Bakery and Emporium (across from the State Capital) Austin, Texas – Paris Dreams (Dreaming of Paris)
I’m very grateful to my buyer at the Old Bakery & Emporium in Austin Texas! 🙏 With as few months as the Old Bakery’s been reopen, and all the precautions needed to be taken recently here in Austin, it’s a miracle to be able to share my art a this time 💕

October 08, 2021 – Girl on Bicycle Study 1 v2, #Watercolor on Paper; Masking Fluid Removed, Minor Adjustments = Similar Yet Different Picture : Calling it Done!
I’m sensing a strong pattern right now in any of my work with masking fluid involved – ie, nice image with my paint overlay over the masking fluid, and a differing yet pleasing picture emerges. I continue to be concerned though, because I’m liking my painting overlays incrementally more each time.

October 07, 2021 – Dappled Light, “Figures in a Landscape Study” : Calling It Done, Uploaded to Fine Art America
As is sometimes the case, I’m not totally satisfied with this piece, but I’ve posted it to Fine Art America, deciding I’ve done what I want with it, have learned a great deal, and have several working pieces benefiting from this effort; and for that, I’m very grateful ❤️ It captures enough of a feeling…

October 05, 2021 – Girl on Bicycle Study 1, #Watercolor on Paper; 1st Paint Lay-in Over Masking Fluid
In contrast to my prev post – describing a disaster with an abstract study on paper 😯 – I hope to shorten this one quite a bit – taking wife to dr appt then groceries then returning home before Austin City Limits’ festival kicks off and we won’t have a place to park near our…

September 25, 2021 – Walking in Dappled Light Study 1, #Watercolor on Paper, Completed
Not much difference between the previous post’s study version and the completed version above. As you can tell, from the 2nd duo sets of contrasts below, all I did was soften the upper slanting line separating red and white on the lady’s back. But for me, it….

September 23, 2021 – Walking in Dappled Light Study 1, #Watercolor on Paper, Masking Fluid Removed
There’s a lot I like about how this looks with the masking fluid gone (removed prev night and slept on the shock of seeing the changes, lol!) – which doesn’t mean though I’m not looking at what to try to improve how I feel about this work 😊 Initially, 1st impression, I was determined to…

September 22, 2021 – Walking in Dappled Light Study 1, #Watercolor on Paper; 1st Paint Lay-in with Masking Fluid
At 9×12 on 140lb x watercolor paper, I was able to use my brushes fairly effectively where I wanted them, and applied some Turner masking fluid (with a thin palette knife) “fairly” easy. And yes, some foot proportions are off a bit, lol, and her back blouse almost looks like it’s the front, but all…

September 20, 2021 – Dappled Light, “Figures in a Landscape Study” Still Not Done, But, Already a Learning Tool For Me!
“Learning Tool for Me” is part of my blog title today simply ’cause I’ve looking at this post as specifically geared to get me where I wanna go – keeping in mind my destination is a generalized abstraction of image / feeling / and intuitive aspiration (hopefully including figurative work) & it’s reached a point…

September 19, 2021 – Dappled Light, “Figures in a Landscape Study” Continued
Just a quick post updating yesterday’s release showing what I’ve changed/added on to a watercolor on paper I’d 1st posted about on Sept 7th…A bigger factor in today’s image update is the addition of more “white”.

September 18, 2021 – Dapple Light, My Creative Conundrum and Caldron
My regular readers know I’ve been more and more attracted to the idea of being able to paint dappled light, consciously, and hopefully, eventually more spontaneously. I titled my post to include both “conundrum” – which I kept misspelling til I looked it up 😊 – and “caldron” – which I keep feeling my creative…

September 11, 2021 – “Fantasy Walk” : Figure Art on Light Molding Paste on Canvas, Calling it Done, Sorta….
Developing this painting has been more lesson on do’s and don’t’s I think than of completing a finished work, though I also think I’m gonna have to call this one done and move on. Looking at the image sequence from top to bottom, working from finish back to my start, I can see several “things”…

August 27, 2021 – Another New Most Viewed Image For the Week @FineArtAmerica, “ala Anders Zorn, Woman Dressing” : (again) a #Watercolor on Absorbent Ground on Canvas Panel #ContemporaryImpressionism
Despite only having been uploaded to my Fine Art America site for one day, my small 5×7 impressionist copy, “ala Anders Zorn, Woman Dressing” captured the highest number of views for the week! August 23, 2021 – Delivering New Art to the Old Bakery and Emporium (across from the State Capital) Austin, Texas – ala Anders Zorn, Woman Dressing
Like my recently sold small 5×7 watercolor, “ala Monet, Girl with Umbrella” at the Old Bakery, this new work – “ala Anders Zorn, Woman Dressing” is also my own rendition of another older artist’s work, is 5×7 on canvas coated with Golden’s Absorbent Ground, and will also be for sale at the Old Bakery 😊…

August 20, 2021 – Sold! At the Old Bakery and Emporium (across from the State Capital) Austin, Texas – ala Monet, Girl with Umbrella
Like a minor but very welcome miracle, a faint rainbow, or even a tiny prayer that surfaces in one’s heart unexpectedly, I sold my small 5×7 watercolor on panel at the Old Bakery and Emporium which just reopened in July!

August 06, 2021 – 5 Weeks Running! My Most Viewed Image For the Week @FineArtAmerica, Summer is a Lady : #Watercolor on Paper #ContemporaryImpressionism
Though I’ve never known it to happen, meaning maybe it did one of those stretches of time where I wasn’t paying attention 😊 I’ve never had any image be my most viewed at Fine Art America 5 weeks in a row! So that’s a real treat! I was also realizing this week, preparing this post…

July 28, 2021 – New 25×40 #Acrylic on Canvas In-Progress : Barton Springs Greenbelt Indian Summer
A chore heat filled day where my keyboard evidently is deciding it’s had it, lol! Hopefully I finish this post 😊 Basically I started the groundwork for my newest painting, acrylic, wanting to settle on my composition before hand, unlike how I handled my just finished watercolor, same size, where I inserted my figure at…

July 27, 2021 – 4 Weeks Running! My Most Viewed Image For the Week @FineArtAmerica, Summer is a Lady : #Watercolor on Paper #ContemporaryImpressionism
I’m sure I’ve had images repeat as most viewed 4 times in a row, but I wasn’t paying as much attention to that as I try to nowadays 😊 Summer is a Lady continues to simmer atop my selection of photos and artwork and illustrated poetry ♥️

July 26, 2021 – Where I Left Off Before Our Trip, New #Watercolor on Canvas Completed : Barton Springs Greenbelt Indian Summer
I just took another look at my newly completed painting (above) to try for some settled sentiment I can include for my post, and I do have that – some settled sentiment. I’m still digesting and assimilating what this new work means to me. Though I know it’s incomplete, because I also know this work…

July 13, 2021 – Two Weeks Running! My Most Viewed Image For the Week @FineArtAmerica, Summer is a Lady : #Watercolor on Paper
Though not completely unusual for one of my images to be most viewed more than one week at Fine Art America, it’s also not typical 😊 That I particularly like this painting does make it extra nice!

July 05, 2021 – My Most Viewed Image This Week @FineArtAmerica, Summer is a Lady : #Watercolor on Paper
Though uploaded to Fine Art America late in the week’s cycle, Summer is a Lady easily outpaced all other views for this past week ❤️ Being a variation of a previous watercolor created on the same line art template I’d created, I wrote a blog post on their similarities, including their titles – and, how…

May 30, 2021 – My Most Viewed Image This Week @FineArtAmerica, ala Monet Girl With Umbrella

Adan’s Newest Art Upload to Fine Art America – Paris Dreams (Watercolor on Absorbent Ground) Uploaded 12.11.20
Paris Dreams is an early result of beginning with a color that appealed to how I felt that day, violet, applied abstractly, then give another stab at developing a figure.

My Most Recent Watercolor Art Work – Sept / Oct 2020 in 3 Videos
“It’s been awhile since I’ve done an art post, having been doing a mini Election 2020 series, but I have continued painting — a nice group of smaller (5×7 & 8×10) watercolors on panels and stretched canvas.”

Awash in Dreams – One Painting, Four Digital Variations

Aging Gracefully – Through Covid-19 – New Paris Paintings In-Progress: Lady in Paris 1889, Paris Arm Chair View
New Paris Paintings I want to have been finished with these two, lol! But they’ve needed little touches. The larger piece (20×20), Lady in Paris 1889, a true acrylic watercolor mix (a little more on that below) has needed tiny tiny touches to “unflatten” it so to speak. While the smaller 6×6 piece has needed…
