April 09, 2022 – 12×18 Floating Butterfly Austin Signed Print Sold at The Old Bakery and Emporium (across from the State Capital) Austin, Texas
A small thing, but the kind of small thing that keeps hope afloat! 🙏 I’m very grateful the City of Austin has a place like the Old Bakery and Emporium, an 1800s preserved & renovated historical site that displaces the work of Austin area artists 50+ years young 😊

April 08, 2022 – #Covid19 : Sheila and I Got Our #SecondBooster
Though my Google search for info re getting one’s 2nd Covid-19 booster shot resulted in a variety of articles, some of which admitted scientists were split or mixed re getting the 2nd booster, my wife and I had already decided we were getting it.

April 04, 2022 – Finished My 1st SilverSneakers’ Online Live 45 Minute Yoga Class!
Earlier today ( Sunday ) I fully completed my 1st 45 minute class anywhere since I somehow brought on a now 4 month running case of planters fasciitis! Even if their 15 stretch classes are still my best bet for now, lol! I’ve progressed from store bought orthotics ( 2 variations ) to….

March 30, 2022 – Experimenting With Polyptychs, Part 2 – Separating, or Joining Panels While Painting : How Does it Affect My Creativity? Detail View : Cut and UnCut Panel Edges
Whether I’ll end up preferring single full canvas works, or multi-panel polyptychs, I honestly don’t know right now. My guess is, I’m gonna like keeping on doing both 😊

March 29, 2022 – Experimenting With Polyptychs, Part 1 – Separating, or Joining Panels While Painting : How Does it Affect My Creativity?
I don’t have an answer for the title question yet, but I realized, if I wanted to explore that idea/question, I needed to start a blog post thread separate from my initiating blog post series when I 1st started exploring working with multiple canvas panels. I’m calling this new thread – Experimenting With Polyptychs, and…

March 23, 2022 – Reblog, Tiffany Arp-Daleo’s “Playing With Crimson” Juried Into Ashton Gallery’s Art Show “LIPSTICK & ROUGE” in San Diego, California!
Tiffany has a great post with lots of pics of the gallery, her husband and, of course, her art! Curious, I looked up Ashton Gallery and was very impressed with their space and approach to their local area original-art artists — “Buying art is like falling in love,” says Ashton….

March 21, 2022 – Rearranging My “Art Room” at Home for a New Endeavor : Polyptychs, ie, Art on 2 or More Panels, Part 5 – Signing the Backs of Each of 4 Panels
A reader recently commented they looked forward to seeing how I’d sign this new work, there being 4 panels 😊 This part of my signing, and the post about it, is the easier for me to do 1st because this is how I’ve signed the back of each of the 4 polyptych pieces. Signing the…

March 18, 2022 – Rearranging My “Art Room” at Home for a New Endeavor : Polyptychs, ie, Art on 2 or More Panels, Part 4 – Something New I Didn’t Expect Painting Across 4 Panels!
I think I’ve finished my new painting – “Mountains, Clouds and Waves” – except for the placement(s) of my signature(s) and I’ll do that in probably the next (and final) post (I think, lol!) in this mini series. What I do want to speak to just a bit – because it now seems so obvious…

March 17, 2022 – Spinning My Wheels and Getting a Few Things Done Anyways, lol!
Worked on my 4th inlay for my most recent experiment, painting a 4 panel polyptych, but didn’t catch an image while the light was good. Spent over an hour trying to “adjust” the various dull-light captures to better match the painting and failed. Did though, update my….

March 16, 2022 – Rearranging My “Art Room” at Home for a New Endeavor : Polyptychs, ie, Art on 2 or More Panels, Part 3 – Getting Some Answers
Still a bit more to go, but I’m clarifying to myself 😊 the direction and feeling I want this new more-complex-abstract-than-usual work to go. I’ve definitely chosen to rebalance the 4 panels in favor of the left 2 panels’ lighter balance of swooshes of colors.

March 15, 2022 – Rearranging My “Art Room” at Home for a New Endeavor : Polyptychs, ie, Art on 2 or More Panels, Part 2

March 14, 2022 – Rearranging My “Art Room” at Home for a New Endeavor : Polyptychs, ie, Art on 2 or More Panels, Part 1
I seem to be on an unintended rush to catch up with an equally unintended rash of new paintings I’ve been creating since late last year, and decided, under pressure of not being able to move in the smaller 2nd bedroom in our apartment I call my “art room” 😊

March 10, 2022 – The Drought is Broken : 12×18 Lou Neff Austin Signed Print Sold at The Old Bakery and Emporium (across from the State Capital) Austin, Texas
Sometimes, like when recovering from an illness, and one feels a lifting of a debilitating fever, with a coolness that refreshes and not overwhelms, the sale of one print, after months of nothing, provides a lift to one’s spirits and steps as good as selling a painting when all seems it’ll always be thus 🙏…

March 09, 2022 – Art Review / Reblog : 2 Women Artists I Know ( virtually ) Having Live Shows Right Now, in England ( Margaret Hall ) and California ( Tiffany Arp Daleo )
Sure, it’da been nicer posting this on March 08, 2022, on International Women’s Day – but, if I can’t atone just because I’m late, well…my momma didn’t teach me that’d be a good enough excuse not to celebrate a little late anyway ❤️ 😊 Margaret Hall and Tiffany Arp Daleo are long time innovators and…

February 28, 2022 – Where Can You See and Buy My Art? : I’m Setting Up a New Page!
I’ve tinkered and tankered how to best accomplish where and what and how interested folks can see and buy my original art work, and this is the beginning prototype. I’ll be adding ( hopefully ) almost daily, until I have the format and listings I want – then, I’ll ( also hopefully 😊) copy my…

February 27, 2022 – My Most Viewed Image this Past Week @FineArtAmerica, Blue with Gold Twilight – New 10×20 #Panoramic #Abstract #AcrylicPainting
I rushed getting Blue with Gold Twilight uploaded to Fine Art America because I’d also submitted it to Creative Art Society here in Austin for their online market. Considering I’d just painted it, I guess it was all a rush, lol! But I hadn’t painted it with the above online market in mind, it just…

February 26, 2022 – Adan’s #ArtPoems / #PhotoPoems : The Wings of Life Form From the Sky
Pink with Maroon Landscape and Bird is a rare painted-in-one-go art work. There was nothing I felt I could add, including fill in the upper 2/3s right. I saw the mountain-like peak in the middle top right away, then the bird’s head to its right. Then gradually, I began to see the….

February 25, 2022 – New 10×20 Inch #Acrylic #PaletteKnife #AbstractArt Upload @FineArtAmerica – Pink with Maroon Landscape and Bird
Second of two 10×20 inch acrylic color fields I’m listing on Creative Arts Society’s Spring Online Market ( begins March 01, 2022 ), Pink with Maroon Landscape joins my 1st selection, Blue with Gold Twilight. Both should be easier to ship if sold, and sold to a buyer outside the Austin area. Neither is offered…

February 23, 2022 – New 24×36 Inch #Acrylic #PaletteKnife #LyricalAbstract Upload @FineArtAmerica – Scenic Pink with Yellow
I look at this image, of a new 2×3 foot size color field, knowing how large it looks and feels, even at this relatively medium size, and realize maybe I need some size perspective shots, like with me holding or beside the painting.
